This hi tel is located right at the Stralsund railway station and still just a 15 minutes walk away from downtown. And this walk is worth the while. Many attractions in Stralsund are awaiting you to be discovered.

Room tip: Importunately, I did not get the room I wanted...But I survived.

A little dated in appearance compared with modern hotels but none-the-less friendly, welcoming and comfortable.
The receptionist seemed a little confused over our booking. She was unaware that we had booked a car parking space for the week as we were going on a cycling tour and it was all prepayed but in the end it all got sorted out amicably. This may have been due to our lack of German and her lack of English.
Very comfortable room and an unlimited buffet breakfast.
HIghly recommended.

Room tip: Rear of the hotel rooms give views of the Nikolaikirche, founded 1270.

Very close to Stralsund station in a smart, reasonably quiet street. My room was large and comfortable with a settee and armchair. Customary two single beds pushed together provided plenty of bed width. It was quiet inside and only minor road noise.

Breakfast was in a light airy room with a decent range of cold and hot items. It was possible to sit outside on sunny mornings.

It was about a 10 minute walk to the historic city centre via a pleasant footpath and bridges (but watch out for cyclists) past a lake. Not much in the way of restaurants or bars adjacent to the hotel. Plenty though in the lovely city centre.

Room tip: higher floor if at front to reduce road noise

Spent two nights, saturday and sunday. The property met all expectations, and was as described on their website. Per suggestions on TA, we asked for a room on the back side of the hotel facing the old town. The hotel upgraded us to a very nice room with a separate seating area that opened out onto a large terrace, shared with one other unit on the top (5th floor). The room was quiet, the view great, and the terrace very nice for sitting out on in the evening or catching the sun in the day time.

The secure reserved parking on the premises was a great benefit and was at reasonable cost (6 Euro/nite). Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Front desk is not staffed after 10PM. Breakfast was good. Internet worked fine, was included, and logon info was obtained from the Front Desk. We would certainly use the hotel again, the only possible detractor being that the lack of Air Conditioning (typical in most hotels and homes in Germany) might make for a warm room in the summertime. It was not an issue during our stay.

Old town Stralsund is great for walking around and easily reached by a pleasant walk from the hotel. We went on board the retired square rigged training ship Georg Foch, which is now a museum. If you have any interest in things maritime, it is worth a visit. Also had first rate fish & chips at the Fischkutter Nordstern, a small vessel tied up at the same wharf as the Foch. Stralsunder beer is the local beer and the Pils is great.

Room tip: Rooms on the back side face the Old Town with a nice view and are quiet. They also get the sun first thing in the morning.

Even though it is only 100 meters from the train station (within sight from the front steps) the hotel is in a very nice neighborhood with very little traffic on the road and none of the scruffy characters you sometimes see near a train station. It is a very nice walk into old town through a park and bridge over the lake. Good service and clean room although room 107 had a stain on the floor which could have been covered up with one of the comfortable chairs (we did). Bathtub with shower. Window opened, overlooking a parking lot and park. Very quiet. Large room. I would stay here again.
