We visit Dortmund each year for the Intermodellbau show at Westfallhallen. This is the first time we have stayed here and will certainly do so in future. It's perfect location for the exhibition hall and Dortmund football stadium. It's only a few minutes walk to the Ubahn station and a 10 minute ride to the centre of town. The staff are all so friendly and the food in the buffet restaurant all good. One disappointment there are no bar meals so you can't have just a snack only a full meal in the restaurant. With nothing else nearby this is the only complaint.

If your sole purpose of visiting Dortmund is to watch a game at Signal Iduna Park, then this hotel is PERFECT for you (It's located just a few steps away from the stadium). However, it is less than ideal for those wanting to spend more time in the city centre as. A short taxi ride to the main hotspots of Dortmund will only set you back 10 EUR.

We loved our room. It was absolutely spacious and quiet. The bathroom, for some reason, was colossal! Breakfast was good, although the choices were a bit fewer than most German hotels I've stayed at. They also serve a buffet dinner (it costs EU 18.50) and I was impressed by how delicious the featured dishes were.

The staff were all very friendly, professional, and eager to help. Overall, our experience was very positive and we will not hesitate to return here for the football match we'll manage to get tickets to.

Hotel's location predestinate it for BVB fans and exposition guests. It is located almost vis-a-vis Borussia Dortmund Stadium, right behind Westafallenhallen.

It located in not very convenient location for those who arrive either via plane or by train
Journer from Hotel takes almost 20 min (without a traffic to reach Dortmund Airport) or 15 to Main Train Station. Hotel's parking is fairly small and usually full. Don't forget to prebook a parking place once you are arriving by car.

Concrete building looks dated (built in 1979) and it was at least for me gloomy and overwhelming, like an old castle. Inside, some parts looks like there time has stood still. Luckily the rooms (at least some of them e.g. #327 looks far better).

Receptionists are not too attentive as one might have expected. The same applies to (one of) the staff at breakfast.

Room (#327) generally was spacius, decently decorated with a quite comfy bed. The good impression was spoiled by the stained carpet.

Free internet was working fine, but beware some of websites were deliberately blocked (or slowed down) - once in VPN every single one worked ok.

There is a bad information for fitness fans - a pool is shallow and in addition stinky (water smelled unpleasantly), surprising to me that there was no single hair-dryer in the pool area (!!!). Steam bath and sauna may compensate aforementioned drawbacks. It is a pity there was no gym onsite.

Breakfast was not very sumptuous however there was no single reason to complain about.

Price / value ratio is frankly speaking very WEAK - for a nightly rate 84-102 EUR (with Tax) I am quite sure, you can find a better place to stay.

Room Tip: Find a better place to stay unless you are BVB fan or came for an expo!

Chose this hotel as we were going to the Scorpions 50th Anniversary Tour gig at the concert hall next door. The transport links to get to and from the airport were also very good for this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and quality of our room and the free minibar was a bonus. Breakfast was very good and the hotel benefitted from having a swimming pool and small spa, however I couldn't get the sauna or steam room to work.
Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel especially if you are going to a concert or the football which is also next door. Staff were also very friendly.

Very convenient for access to signal iduna park but aside from that the hotel didn't really impress. Staff at reception were rather robotic and the room was very old fashioned with a faint smokey smell (this was a non smoking room)Two twin beds jammed together does not represent 4 star in my opinion. That being said, no horror stories and at the rate can't grumble too loudly.
