Ok, if you happen to be in Essen and you are looking for fantastic, home made Italian, this is the place. Mitch was raised on great Italian food in NYC and this is serious stuff. The food is killer, from the first course all of the way thru the dessert. The owner works the tables and takes his quality, service and atmosphere very seriously.

Mitch rarely gives a 5 star, but after 3 visits, I'm a committed fan.

Thank Mitch R

Perfect food, good service and in real Italian style. Btw, don't order from the menu, the cook has got always something special upon his sleeve.

Ate here last night with colleagues, without a booking. Antipasti as starter, sea bream as main course. The food came quickly and was very well cooked - the fish was simply cooked with no sauces and a small side plate of perfectly cooked vegetables. We chose some white wine from an extensive (mainly Italian wine list) which accompanied the fish very well.

The service was good and friendly and a long list of specials were offered. The fish specials in particular seemed to be whatever was bought at the market that day rather than being on the menu. Don't be concerned about the lack of fish dishes on the menu, there were 4 fish dishes available from the specials the night we went

Overall it was a very enjoyable evening. Seems best to book at weekends as it was very busy on a Wednesday night

We were invited here by our German customer as they know we love Italian food. I can say that you must try this resto if you love Italian food. The food & wine are very extraordinary. We tried the fillet steak, oglio olio, spaghetti podomoro, grilled sea bass abd many more... Family warmth service. Really good experience & good resto.

basic food but well prepared and without too many compromises to the original. That is oase due in Essen. Located at the busy Rü in the center of Essen.
I enjoyed the pasta pomodoro (my acid test) and their branzino or scallopine.
When you're around certainly worthwhile and you will not be disappointed.
One negative is that the wines by the glass are pretty expensive (7,5 € for a glass of basic quality merlot or montepulciano d'abruzzo)
