On our walk back to our hotel, we dropped into Remo’s for an early dinner. We arrived without a reservation - there was plenty of space, but showing up without a reservation appeared to be frowned upon.
We were lead to our table by our server. We waited several minutes before our server brought menus; he was more interested to return to socializing with colleagues at the bar. Throughout the entire meal, the server seemed to be imposed upon if we made a request. After ordering, the food arrived quickly by other staff. Food was hot and delicious.
The neighboring table had the same server; their experience was completely different than ours. Service was immediate and essentials arrived without request.
The only apparent difference seemed that the neighbouring guests were local. This left us with the impression that North American travellers were not welcome.
Although the food was excellent, the service experience would not have us return to this restaurant.
