This is a place I don't want to give a good review because I want it to be easily available the next time we are there. This is the nicest hotel we have stayed in in Europe. The food is outstanding. The breakfast buffet is second to none. We felt the restaurant was the best one we tried in trier. The service was excellent and very accommodating. Our request to move to a room with a larger balcony was handled promptly and with out any issues, in fact, while we were out they moved our luggage for us to the new room. The Hotel is about a kilometer from the center of town so it was just a short walk to any of the historical monuments and museums we wanted to see. Although we didn't get to it the hotel also had bicycles for rent if we wanted to ride around town or up and down the Mosel river. The spa and saunas were very nice and clean and we are looking forward to trying out the new pool. For the service we received we thought the price was reasonable as well. We are already trying to come up with and excuse to go back to Trier just to stay at Hotel Villa Hugel.

We stayed here for two nights and had an amazing experience! The hotel staff is wonderful and so much attention is paid to each guest that you feel like you're the only person there! They have a beautiful terrace that overlooks the city, and during tea time offer a selection of cakes and pastries for the guests to enjoy. I'm not normally a fan of eating dinner at your hotel, but the food here is FANTASTIC! We had a multi-course dinner which was one of the best meals I had while in Germany. Additionally, the breakfast selection is extremely impressive (and included in your room rate). There's nothing I could have contemplated that wasn't available on the buffet. There's surface parking available or you can pay to park in a reserved spot underneath the hotel, which is protected with gate access. The rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious. Ours overlooked a small garden with a fountain, which was very peaceful to listen to while in the room. You can easily walk downtown or to a local brauhuas if you want to get out, but with the beautiful rooftop pool and terrace, you may never want to leave the hotel.

Perfect in almost every way. The interior is more modern spa than art nouveau and it is a bit of a walk from the centre, but it is a great stopover in an interesting city. Super friendly people and good parking too.

This is a truly beautiful small hotel. Views of the small city of Trier - a gem of a regional town with excellent Roman ruins and phenomenal wines - are lovely. The facilities are in perfect working order and entirely clean. Breakfast is a work of art in the German style of "Breakfast like a king." The house is up on the hillside, a short walk down into the city, a somewhat longer walk back up (because it is uphill). The neighborhood is quiet as a pin at night. It is conveniently located to an Aldi for any needed food purchases. Truly a perfect little hotel in every way, and the staff are uniformly kind, efficient, and helpful. My only hesitation in fully recommending this hotel is that it might make it harder for me to get rooms when I want them in future if others know how nice this place is.

If your travels take you to Triers in the Beautiful Moselle valley you will want to savour the delights of this lovely family ran independent hotel . We have stayed several times over the last 9 years and have never been disappointed by the friendliness and comfort. Since our last stay they have undergone a very tasteful expansion to include a rooftop infinity pool and wonderful terrace and new restaurant area with lovely views across the city. Expansive sauna, indoor pool and great breakfasts make this a winner.
