What a gem of a hotel. Clean and spacious room. Very helpful staff on the desk. Breakfast was extensive with many delicious offerings. Also, the welcome drink and food in the reception area was a delight. We were even offered water on our departure. They sell tram tickets to the city and the tram stop was only a five minute walk. Across the street there is a very nice Greek restaurant called Lampros.

When in Dresden, stay here.

A little off the centre, this is a friendly hotel with decent rooms, especially the bathrooms, which are really practical.
But the highlight is the breakfast, which provides a rich and tasty variety of dishes for all tastes.

We stayed at Hotel Smetana for a show at the open air stage close by. Therefore, the location was very convenient as we could walk to the event and did not have to use the car or public transportation. The hotel itself is pretty cute with a traditional flair. The welcome was nice and on our way to the event we got told how to get there which was helpful and kind. The breakfast was okay but for a 4 star hotel it could have been equipped with meat, fish and bread rolls of higher quality. I can only rank 3 points as the breakfast was not as good as expected and I immediately saw uncleaned spots at our room. I also told this at check-out and the nice lady at the reception was sorry and reacted very friendly. All in all, our stay was not bad but the hotel classification as well as the price lead to a higher expectation.

Small, quaint hotel in a nice neighborhood along tram and bus lines. Cozy and quiet room with soft linens and great shower. Breakfast is included and was outstanding. Afternoon and evening snacks served in lobby, all complimentary, very thoughtful of the management. All staff was attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about their city. Hope to be back soon on my next transport trip.
