It's a must see for Lübeck. We had a business dinner and the row type seating plan gave not only a cosy athmosphere but also a historical feeling. One should take a tour of the restaurant after ordering to see hanging ship models, ceiling, biblical wall paintings and manu other ornaments. Menu and service is good. Highly recommended.

Went here on our last night in Lubeck and was more expensive, as expected, but we'll worth a visit for such good food and service - and most of all the lovely interior. Downstairs there is a nice little bar that I also very much enjoyed

One of the good things about this restaurant is that it's menu is written both German & English (English translations at the bottom was extremely useful). Note that prices were on the high side - we order the Lubecker's fish soup, a Tagliatelle, and the trout dish, together with a Rum bomb for dessert, and this was $70. There are no lunch menus. The menu also briefly shares the building's history & significance.

Note that because of it's traditional interiors, there is very low lighting - pictures of your food will not turn out nice; just enjoy the atmosphere with your other companions. The table we sat at was also slanting inwards, the plates would side into the middle, hence it might be different to share food.

Lastly, I'm not sure if it's because we are Asians, but we thought that the fish soup was too salty to anyone's liking. The meals were delicious, but the soup was not. We observed that many of the Germans had ordered it, and had no qualms about it. I would recommend buying a bowl first to share, before ordering 1 per person.

Visited here with two German friends and the place is just fantastic. The building is really old and the internal appearance hasn't changed for hundreds of years. The waiters are extremely attentive, and food is perfect. If recommend the duck and the marzipan ice cream, they were both truly awesome!

Beautiful historic building, price quality of the food very good, everything perfectly cooked, great staff. Wine list quite limited, very few German wines. More from Mosel, Baden or Rheingau would be nice but the Dornfelder from Pfalz was good, glasses and temperature perfect.
