We arrived late from the ferry from Finland. The check in was quick and we got a nice room with a view towards the river and town. We only stayed for the night in order to get back home by car the next day. A very good night´s sleep in the confortable beds. Everything is well organized in this hotel and the breakfast is one of the best one can get. There is such a good variety of fruit and bread and of hot items. The honey selection is one of the best I ever experienced at a hotel breakfast, the coffee tasted strong and good.

Have stayed at this hotel a couple of times before, and the walking distance to the beautiful town is short. A town very much worth of visiting with all the churches and the town hall.

Room Tip: Standard room, ask for river view

The decor, open concept juxtaposed to the Medieval (and slightly newer) city was fantastic. Lubeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany is a "wow" experience if you stay in the old city, not in the industrial shipping area. This hotel is in the perfect spot to see everything in old Lubeck. The food was good and the service was also.

Room Tip: Facing the Canal

I spent three nights at this hotel for a recent business trip. It is a very functional business hotel, with good meeting rooms, free wifi, a well equipped business center and a good restaurant on site. Breakfast offers great selection and is good quality. My one dinner at the hotel was also quite good.
Rooms are well appointed, quiet and with the blinds closed, can be as dark as you like. There is lots of hot water for showers and unlike some German hotels, you get a facecloth and a stopper for the sink. The beds are the typical low European style with simple linens. Not the down filled duvets one might expect in some hotels.
The medieval city of Lubeck is directly across the river, accessible by a pedestrian bridge adjacent to the hotel. Take the time to tour the old city.
You will notice the odd architecture of the hotel, especially when viewed from the river side. It looks like it is on stilts. It is. Lubeck frequently endures flooding so the hotel has been designed to minimize damage during these floods. If you tour the old city, look for the water marks on the sides of buildings to get some idea of the extent of the flooding.

Room Tip: Ask for a "river view" otherwise you are looking at the parking lot. Beyond the river is the beautiful historic city of Lubeck.

Fantastic riverside setting, comfortable, spacious and clean rooms, all the extras expected in a 5*. Welcoming staff, good food and probably the best scrambled eggs I've had in a hotel. 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel and definitely one I would go back to.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room, I had 1069!

Close to the central station, yet on the river overlooking the heart of the old town, right beside the Holstentor - the location couldn't be better.
The room was comfortable and spacious. Bathrobes, kettle and everything provided, which I always enjoy.

Good choice, I'd go again.

The only amenity we used during our stay was the wellness area, which was regular Hotel-style okay. I'd recommend for a hydro/thermostat to be put in the Finnish sauna and some more day beds for relaxations.

Stayed: May 2015, travelled with friends
