I booked this hotel thinking I would rather pay a bit more for the service of a four star and a hotel with a swimming pool. I couldn't belive how small the room was when we first arrived. It was too claustrophobic to spend any time in there. The staff aren't very helpful and bordering on rude and the WiFi inadequate. You are also greeted with the sound of construction work at 8am each morning.

BUt the main reason for me to actually have taken the time to write this is the strange request they had of my husband when he went to use the pool.

Even though there is a changing room by the pool, the ordered him to return to his room to change into his swimwear there and walk through the hotel back to the pool with just a robe and his slippers in order to be able to use the pool as the changing room is only for those not staying in the hotel!! How embarrassing- no logic at all.

The hotel is within walking distance of the main railway station. The room is well appointed (in the renovated wing) and comes with free internet. There was a slight sewer gas smell in the bathroom. Front desk staff will not let anyone check in until 3pm. Bags can be stored with the desk. Make sure they lock the bag room door. First staffer was professional and pleasant when we told him (in German) our spoken German was nicht gut. He was great with that and spoke English. A large man at the desk later in the evening was not so nice. He Yelled at us in German. When he found out we were not German speakers he became rude and insolent. He was the first German to give us attitude because we are English speakers. Unacceptable and sad. Sort of spoiled the visit to this hotel as did the overly expensive buffet breakfast Er30 !!! don't do it...pick something up downtown.

Room tip: Be sure the room is in the renovated section of the hotel.

My daughter and I had decided to spoil ourselves with a luxurious stay at this hotel. We studied it thoroughly before booking. Spa - several experiences with Hammam, saunas, algebath, massage and so on. Several restaurants and bars.
When we arrived there was roadwork all around the hotel. So much noise, it was almost impossible to stay there.
We had expected to relax, but no.
Of the many restaurants and bars, all the bars were closed and only one restaurant was open. Ok. We had no intension of letting that turn our trip into a failure, so we went to the restaurant in the evening to get a meal. First we were told NO, they had a party and they had reserved the entire restaurant. After some arguing back and forth we had 2 seats, BUT we were told we couldn´t choose our meal. There was only the buffet, which the party had ordered. We were very disappointed, but had to make due.
After the " meal " which was almost uneatable, we went to the reception, as my daughter had just reached her time of the month. We asked them, discretely, if they had any cotton or something similar.
The female receptionist very loudly said " I don´t think so`". Then she shouted to her male college if he knew anything about this. Loudly they conversed back and forth and finally came up with the fact that they didn´t have any.
We were exceedingly embarrassed.
Next embarrassing incident happened when we went to the spa area. There was a variety of experiences as mentioned above.
The 2 of us sat with our feet in water minding our own business. There were entrances and exits for both men and women. There were doors with signs saying MEN and WOMEN, where you could dress or undress.
Suddenly we were surrounded by naked men and women and a lot of them. They were walking around talking to each other.
We didn´t read anything in the add for the hotel, that this was a hotel for nudists. We felt so uncomfortable, we had to leave. We would like to decide for ourselves, if we want nude people right in our faces.
To finish this, I´m sorry to say, we had a balcony, very old and overlooking an apartment building and roadwork.
We had not bought a cheap tour, actually we bought the most expensive one.
This was the most embarrassing experience for the both of us - we will never recommend this hotel - and we shall never return.
For that kind of money you would expect much much more.

So to find the room, we spend at about half an hour. Room is clean and pretty good. But everything in this hotel not including spa is stupid. Personal do not now English well. Pretty far from center. Bar is awful. Restorant is like 2/5. Service is also really bad. Sorry, but I would never recommend this place.

There are several buildings connected together in this hotel. The hotel is noice, but my Classic room was more like room of a 3 star hotel. Very basic room with fridge, small window and extremely hard and uncomfortable mattress. Password for wifi was only given after I returned to ask for it. The room was clean and quiet.
