I went alone. And took a Pizza. I also asked for some non sparkling water, and not cold. They brought me a fancy bottle of water. But then when the waiter poured it, it was sparkling. I protested, he told me it was only lightly sparkling. I tried a sip, and then said no. So he went and brought a 1L jar of water. After the Pizza (which wasn't that good, btw), I asked for the bill. There I noticed that they charged me 5€ for the water. I asked why, and I was told that the jar was filled with mineral water. I suspected they were charging for the previous water, so I asked back for the menu. By the time both the waiter and the owner of the restaurant was there. And the waiter was translating to the owner why I was complaining. But basically he was failing to mention that I asked if I was paying for the previous bottle (I don't speak german, but a bit I can understand it).
And indeed the water was officially sold either as 25cl of non sparkling for 1.5€ or 75cl for 5€. The cost of the water was exactly the cost of the bottle they opened before (out of their error). But to me the waiter told me that they were being 'nice' by charging me for 75cl when they should have charged me for 1 liter (4x1.5=6€).
My suspect is that the jar was filled with normal tap water, and they charged me for the water they opened before. But I had no proofs, so I pretended to be convinced, paid and left.
So my suggestion, if you decide to go there. is: don't take the mineral water because it is too costly. Ask for the tap water instead. Don't take the pizza because it is not that good (but I am sure the rest is good - I remember this place as a really good place 4 years ago!). And when they bring the bill check every item.
