“great hotel in good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2012

Lovely hotel located in old quarter of Cadiz central to most sight seeing areas. Very close to cathedral. Car parking at Canalejas located near port e20 per day which was a little bit expensive but secure. Staff very welcoming and helful. Recommended great restaurant. Hotel only has small number of rooms and is very busy, so need to book in advance if travelling at weekend.

Room Tip: Only room left was on 5 floor. Room 52. Initially put off by description of "attico room"...

While in port in Cadiz my wife and I were in need of wifi in order to check on our business and communicate with family and friends. We had no luck getting a signal at any of the public venues so we went into Patagonia Hotel Sur and explained our situation. A young man named Francisco sat us down in a lounge/breakfast area, turned on the lights and provided us with the hotel wifi code. In spite of the language barrier and our not being guests of the hotel we were very impressed with the warmth and hospitality provided by this young man. Thank you Francisco, you have a bright future in the hospitality field and you are a credit to your employer.

Charming hotel in the heart of Cadiz. Cozy rooms, very clean, very friendly service, free wi-fi, great breakfast for only 5 euro. The only problem was the freezing bathroom - there's no heating source or air conditioning in there, just a huge window. Practically, it's as cold as outside

During our trip to spain and portugal, this hotel was the most expensive, and we liked it the least. We only stayed one night. Great location, but the room was not the best. Our room was at the end of the hall, a street facing room, which was the smallest. We could barely walk around the bed. The breakfast was ok, but the food ran out quickly and was not replenished while we were there.

Great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived from England via Seville, super tired and thirsty and were offered a cup of coffee ( and not charged for it!) even though the breakfast/bar was closed. The room is small but the bathroom spacious. With a few modifications in the furniture they could maximise the space but it will probably take some time as the furniture looks reasonably new. Breakfast was varied with fruit, yogurts, pastries, cold meats etc...The room was cleaned properly and the set of toiletries in the bathroom was gorgeous!! Will I stay there again? Yes, definately!

On a 6 city tour of andalucia Cadiz turned out to be agreat place. the oldest city in Europe Cadiz has a fabulous cathedal and great beaches. thhotel Patagonia-sur is in a great location close to the cathedral and in the heart of the old town. the hotel reception staff are excellent, the rooms and breakfast are very good and i would recommeend this as a base .

You pay for the location with this hotel, as it is right next to the cathedral, but the room was basic but clean and functional.

We felt very safe, with friendly and accomodating staff. Unusual but useable shower.

Good breakfast in modern, but small dining room at the front of the hotel.

Gentleman at reception was amiable and made us feel welcome in Cadiz.
