First the good points: the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is good and central and my room was clean. However… the shower cubicle in my room was broken and had clearly been that way for a while; one of the sliding doors had been replaced by a very badly fitted curtain. There was also no shower gel – just a bar of cheap soap, which would be okay for a hostel but in this day and age it’s something that travels have come to expect from even budget hotels.
And then there was the window. It was small and looked out onto an inner courtyard that opened to the sky four stories up. Daylight and fresh air were simply not available. Add some plumbing that sounded like a constipated elephant after a night on the curry and you have a room that was okay-ish but hardly a bargain for the money.
Neither good nor bad and annoyingly pretty easy to fix, in part. If the shower cubicle hadn’t been damaged and if there’d been some shower gel I’d have awarded another star; as it is I can’t wholeheartedly recommend staying but neither can I condemn it. Malaga, however, is amazing!More
