After reading the review about this church, we wanted to visit it but unfortunately the church was closed so we just took some pictures. Some people were also there with the same purpose like us.

What a wonderful church this is. Peace within you and around you. A quiet moment away from the pace of life. We all need that from time to time

I'm not a God fan but He is the cause of some stunning architecture by humans and this is right up there with the best. 'Ornate' doesn't do it justice - every side chapel has Jesus, Mary and the Disciples emblazoned in gold and silver. The ceiling is breath taking. All credit must go to the architects, artists, masons and thousands of paupers who's meager earnings funded this RC blow out. Imagine a world without Christianity, eh?

This church built upon request by the Catholic Monarchs after the Siege of Malaga in 1487,has a combination of different architectural styles and hosts 4 brotherhoods so you may be able to see the images of the Virgins and Christs that are taken out to procession during Holy Week. If you want to learn about Malaga culture, this is one of the places you have to visit as it was built in honor of the patron saints of the city, "San Ciriaco" and "Santa Paula".
