“Quiet,beachside location at decent prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2012

We have stayed twice (May and November) at this great little hotel right on the lovely Paseo Maritimo, overlooking the Med with views to Africa's Rif mountains and Gibralter.Ask for one of the front facing rooms, preferably on the top or second top floors - you pay a bit more but well worth it for the outlook.Balconies are absolutely huge, great for eating out on.The apartments we have had have been clean, simple, reasonably equipped, very quiet and - although without any 'charm' as such - we really like them. The view from the patio doors, the deep blue sea sparkling just a stone's throw away, well the location itself makes this hotel our first and only choice now in Marbella.Didn't fancy the lower floors or side apartments much because of their view onto neighbouring apartment blocks, albeit some have a bit of a side on view to the sea.
Parking isn't easy although we have been really lucky both stays(off-season) getting a vacant space right outside. But we wouldnt be too worried if we had to park a bit further away. The whole area is very nice and safe , lots of tropical gardens, very attractive.
Didn't fancy the restaurant much - it looked very empty and basic, not appealing. The hotel is beside so many eating choices - plus a great new supermarket 5 mins walk along the front - or 10 mins walk to the beautiful old town. How can you beat eating breakfast etc on these great balconies, with those views?
You can walk (about an hour) along the beautiful Paseo Maritimo to Puerto Banus - and then take the little ferry boat back to Marbella' s own harbour.A bit pricey but worth the trip.Buses are 5 mins walk from the hotel.Marbella is one of the few places we would in future perhaps not bother with a car as there is good public transport up to Ronda, Malaga and along the coast.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms on the higher floors are best for sea views -though you pay more.

We stayed here one one night on a road trip around Andalusia.

Great location on the beach. Very central to bars and restaurants, with no major noise factors. Street parking is a little challenging, be patient and one will turn up.

There is a public car park just down the road. We stayed in a studio room, plenty of space and very clean. Kitchen area is simple and effective.

All in all a good stay, friendly staff who are actively working hard to generate a good business.

WIFI is not free. €1 for 15 mins, there is also an internet connected PC and this is free. If you like running, an early morning run to puerto banus is a must, lovely.

Enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: Studio rooms sound small, these are actually huge, with plenty of space.

Stayed here for 5 nights between 7th dec / 12th dec . Basic hotel but very clean, tidy, and comfortable . Nice and warm in rooms as weather can be cold now no need to put the heater on.
We had all the facilities we needed for a shortbreak eg kettle, toaster, microwave, hairdryer.tv with english channels. Hotel staff were very polite, friendly and could speak good english, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Great location right on the beach near old town all with in walking distance. No facilty for parking however there is free parking in the road outside hotel and some of the surrounding roads.
Would definately stay here again central for everything .Good value for money.

This is a great value hotel. It is in an excellent location. We enjoyed our stay here staff are very pleasant. We did not use the pool, it looked a bit small but would be ideal for cooling off in summer and you can sunbath near it. It is a great base for Marbella, also there is a bus station nearby where you can get to the airport for 5 euros. Also I noticed you can get buses there to other parts of Spain if you fancied a trip. Try Europa down by beach for great fish. The old town has some nice shoe shops, also the 2 euro shop was good if you are into that xx

I stayed at the apartments for 5 nights with a friend and we were really impressed with the size of the rooms and the cleanliness. The staff were really helpful and anything you asked for was done for you straight away.
We had a side sea-view overlooking the gardens on the second floor. The real advantage of this was it was cool in the day and quiet most of the time. I would have loved to have a sea view apartment but it was full!

I can imagine it would be noisy if there were large groups of people staying but in general we had no real issues. I would certainly go there again, but probably out of season as we did this time as it's quieter. Marbella is a lovely resort and the location of the Azul is brilliant. Loads of cafes, restaurants and an amazing supermarket 5 mins away.

Room Tip: Sea view would be awesome, but side view cooler and quieter in general

i found the rooms spacious, clean and overall more than expected to find.It always helps to have a helpful and imformertive reception desk and and they delivered on that front.Being very close to the beach you will expect some noise but i found this not the case.Overall i recomend Puerto Azul to anyone
