We spent around a week at Amaragua together with friends on half board .
Location is good, with nice views over the Mediterranean.
Reception, bar etc also nice , but rooms are to be polite in desperate need of redecoration .
Apart from that, our room had an evil smell of tobacco, and as we complained to the reception , the only help was a cleaner who came and sprayed some dreadful "air-freshener ".
We asked for a new room - but despite promises from the front desk- nothing happened.
Helpful staff doesn´t do the trick unless they can solve the problems .

2nd visit to the hotel. 1st time September 2017.
Restaurant gone really downhill. Food bad quality and mostly lukewarm at best. Uninspired dishes generally, salads with anything thrown in. Coffee appalling.
Staff run off their feet and looking miserable on the whole.
Uncleared tables alot of the time.
It's obvious that in the last 12 months the hotel has made savings and the restaurant seems to have born the brunt.
Nice facilities, but it's not enough when you can't get a decent meal.

We’ve just spent Christmas at Hotel Amaragua, meals in the dining room were buffet styled, well stocked and plentiful with excellent choice, the waiters were friendly and attentive

We were treated to an Gala Dinner on Christmas Day, excellent food and service

The Room was very comfortable and cleaned daily, Bars were very busy but the bar staff coped well but could have done with more help at times

All in all a very enjoyable trip, many thanks to all the staff we will be returning very soon

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel is well located on Carihuela beach and not far from the Benalmadena leisure port.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit basic, but comfortable. However, the walls are rather thin and if you are unlucky to be located above the disco/bar areas, noise can be an issue.

The breakfast offering was quite good with choices of hot and cold items. Parking in the adjacent carpark is reasonable at €15 per day, but in off-season times, there is generally free on-street parking available in the locality.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the disco/bar areas and/or higher floors

Mostly Good
Positive-
The hotel is right on the beach ,30 mins slow walk to the resort centre.
lots of shops bars and restaurant close by
It is comfortable, clean and well maintained.
The food is good.
Linen changed daily.
Nice quiet music in background.
Negative-
Its like a very large retirement home for rude, arrogant people.
If you don’t have your towel on your sunbed before 7am you won’t get one.
JAVIER the bar man ruined our holiday he is rude, lazy and not helpful. Much like many of the staff DON’T expect good service
The guest consists of 80% German, 12% Norwegian, 4% Spanish and 4% British.
We were treated like 4th class citizens.
