“dont panic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2011

Just returned from the PuenteReal Hotel and let me assure anyone who has booked this hotel you have nothing to worry about regarding food or the level of service, yes the mealtimes are busy but the choice of food is good and of a good standard with self service beer, wine and soft drinks the pool was not as busy as some people have claimed ( I was there Oct 15th to Oct 22nd ) it may be busier in july/august. As it is during mealtimes its self service for beer ( pints not little cups ) soft drinks and there are bottles of red wine and chilled white and rose with spirits available at the poolside bar the bar staff are great and easy going I did not witness any bias against any nationality I think some Brits are a bit paraniod ( especially some English ) . Only downside was the location at the very end of the resort although this means its handy for the airport ( 10 minute transfer ) and the all-inclusive finishing at 11 pm The rooms are spacious and clean with 7 English channels on the TV. The beds might be a little bit firm for some peoples liking but overall there are much more good points than bad.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main building are smaller than the other levels.

Only 10 mins from the airport has to be an advantage. The room was very clean and well decorated in the building next to the main hotel. The food was average but plentifull the dining room was busy at the weekend but not so much in the week . Swimming pools were to cold to go in lots of sunbeds available but the sea was fab an only across the road so the position of the hotel is good.We took a trip to Gib booked through an agent along the parade of shops the only disadvantage was we were the first pick up but well worth a day out . We met some lovely people and really enjoyed our stay and for mid October the sun didnt stop shining what more do you want ........ an other week perhapes !

Room Tip: Sea View over looking pool

Just came home from a fantastic holiday staying in this hotel.
Could not fault it in anyway.
Went with wife and 16 yr old son & 6 yr old daughter and all really enjoyed it.
Great food great staff very clean.
Great sea views from the balcony also can be on the beach within a few minuites from leaving the hotel.
Will be going back did not see 1 drop of rain during 7 days in October.

Returned from this hotel on the 17th of september after a 10 day stay. I was a little apprehensive due to previous reviews. Transfer to hotel was about 10 mins and we arrived around mid afternoon. We were given an apartment in the older block on the 1st floor over looking the main pool and entertainment area. The apartment was clean and had entrance hall, kitchen, living space, bathroom and a bedroom and also a balcony. The sofa beds in the living area have quite thin matresses but as i was the only person who needed to sleep on them i just used both matresses and slept very well. This was sold to us as a 3 star and i would say that compared to other 3 stars and also some 4 star i have stayed in it was very good. The food was plentiful and varied with meats and fish and also lots of rice and pasta etc. There were a few nights when i didn't enjoy the food but that is always down to personal taste. The dining area could get very busy at times so we just figured out the quieter times and ate then. The snack bar was fab and so were the staff running it. We had no problems with the bar staff who were always helpful if we needed anything. We didn't feel at any time that the staff prefared the spanish or german/french guests more than us. The entertainment was good most nights and we watched it from our balcony as we had a great view. The entertainment staff worked very hard to keep all the guests amused, especially the children.
The staff moved the tables from the entertainment area at around 6:30 in the morning but after the first morning we didn't even hear this. The entertainment stopped at 11pm on the dot every night so you could sleep early if you wanted to.
For those who have complained that there were too many spanish people there i have one thing to say - Don't go to spain! They like to come here for holidays and despite living in a hot country already they also deserve to be able to go on holiday where they want to.
There are 2 pools, the main pool with the childrens pool which was busy and noisy most days and the smaller pool near the apartment blocks which was quieter. We stayed by the smaller pool everyday and always got the comfier sunbeds despite not leaving for breakfast before 9am every morning. Yes i did observe some guests reserving sunbeds at about 7:30am but there always seemed to be available beds during the day. The pools could have been cleaned more thoroughly but this didn't put us off swimming every day which we needed to do as the weather was fab and hot.
So my tips are - It will always be busy at breakfast no matter what time you go.
If you like peace and quiet then ask for the apartment rooms towards the back of the complex or the ones on the right side of the main hotel (as you look at it)
Try the pizza from the bar by the main pool!
There are very little sun shades by the pools which in 30-35 degree weather can be problematic for pasty english skin!
The smaller pool does have trees that provide great shade but watch out for the occasional bird (it's supposed to be good luck but i'm sure that 3 times cancels that out!)
For dinner in the evening if you prefare it a little quieter then try to eat around 7-8 pm.

All in all we had a pleasant and relaxing stay and would definitely return to this hotel.

Have just returned from this hotel ,having spent 10 days of what you may call hell. not only my husband and i thought the place was well below 4 star so did the rest of the british and irish who were also 4star ALL/INC.Great room very clean hotel, reception staff cleaners and snack bar man brilliant. The rest is just appauling most of the bar staff ignorant and as polite as you can be you are still treated with disdain , the restaurante staff are even worse . you can tell straight away their dislike for us uk visitors its a hotel that wants only the spanish french and other E.U countries. The food was the pits so was the drink, out of ten days i tried 4 meals all were revoliting, chicken soup consisted of chopped hard boiled egg and fish left over from breakfast it was vile and thats just an example, drinks no better warm vinegar was called wine and san miguel was ditchwater, this holiday was so expensive after going out and spending money on decent food and drink we could have had a luxuary cruise to the carribean.its mainly for the spanish but all you brits who value your holiday avoid this place i got a bad stomach on day 1 and returned home with it 10 days later. i go abroad 3 times a year and i have never suffered so much as i did at that dump.Good luck if you book

Room Tip: request sea view, but you do have to pay extra, but its magnificent and makes up for the other downf...

we have just returned from this hotel, fabulous weather, hotel rooms were very clean and large only thing is there was no hair dryer in room, you could get one for a deposit of 20 euros from reception as long as they had any left. The food was ok my husband enjoyed it more than i did and it is a very busy restaurant, there were plenty of sunbeds but not enough room to put them on,thankfully the beach being just over the road was great and you can rent 2 sunbeds for 7 euros for the day but if you want them for more than one day tell the attendant and you'll get them cheaper.location fab. Most staff were friendly ,entertainment mediocre. There is a bus stop right outside hotel this will take you up to Torremolinos central .
