The weekend we were in Granada was a holiday weekend, so unfortunately the cost of most hotel accommodations were high. We chose to stay here because of the price, and I would have to say I think we still paid too much for this accommodation. I have stayed much nicer places for less.

First off- I do not think this hostal is in a great or even a good location. A lot of reviews said good location, but it really isn't. It is a doable location and nothing more. It is a 20 minute walk to anything in the center of town. I don't mind a walk, but I wish that had done better research into its location when I was booking this hotel. If you want to get tickets to the Alhambra it would take at least 45mins-1hr to get up there.

Secondly- poor service. Maybe it was just the day we were there, but the checkin process was one of the worst I have ever experienced. We arrived in the afternoon during the time listed for checkin and stood outside ringing the bell for over 15 minutes until a girl came to answer the door. She was wearing headphones and seemed to have zero concern that we had been outside waiting. She then told us that our room was at an apartment in a different building around the corner. She initially just pointed to where we were supposed to go, however there were 3 separate keys to different entrances, so I asked that she show us to the room. Once in the room, I noticed there were no towels. She told us we would need to come back to the other hotel to get the towels. I told her I would be right down to get them after I set down my luggage....I literally went right back to get the towels and again waited another 15-20 minutes for her to answer the door. (I had assumed she had left the building, but then after 20 mins I saw her just walk out of a room upstairs and come down to open the door for me). Simple suggestion to solve this problem is that the person checking people in/answering your door should probably NOT sit in a room upstairs wearing headphones!

The only positives I can think of are that the doors locked, there was free wifi, and the bedding seemed clean (by clean I mean it didn't have fresh stains and we did not get bedbugs).

Room tip: stay somewhere else

I stayed 3 nights in this hostel. Its easy to find, well located (approximately 10-15
minutes distance from airport bus stops), some supermarkets nearby, room clean
with comfortable bed, shared bathroom clean too, wifi working, english speaking staff,
cheap price.

Simple and a little bit old enough accommodation. Perfect bathrooms: warm water, towels, soap. Simple and clean rooms and sheets. There is free wifi. Good location near to the center (15 minutes walking). It is a good hostal for that price. Recommended

Stayed two nights in a double room with private bathroom.
Standard room with no frills.
Perfect for those on a cheap budget. Although we have paid less and stayed in some much nicer places.
Easy enough walk from the train station.
A bit out of the main tourist area but again, within walking distance.
Our bathroom curtain doesn't sufficiently enclose our shower causing the bathroom floor to flood.
Room had no window so it was a bit stuffy.
It was quite noisy- sounded like washing machines going 24/7- I will note we slept just fine despite this.
After our check in not once have we noticed staff in the reception area - again this didn't bother us but worth a mention.
Internet signal was poor in our ground floor room.
Overall for under 12€ a night each it's a comfortable enough stay.

It took forever to find Hostal and then park the car, [without paying], but nice friendly staff who were helpful, especially Peter the Californian. Cheap eateries everywhere. Supermarket close by. Parking on street for 1 Euro per hour. Other pay car park nearby.
Room was not close enough to the front desk for wi-fi but we paid about £35 each for a triple room for 5 nights so can't complain,[n.b. Rm 113]. TV in room, bathroom, clean, pretty much next door Room clean enough but would not have been for my wife but I was on a skiing trip with 2 sons so we weren't so fussy, [under beds not cleaned]. Great location for Sierra Nevada, took only 30 mins in my rented Fiat Panda. Locals friendly, not much English spoken, lovely city, a few beggars about but not hostile. Good Chinese restaurant [Prospectidad], couple of streets away, parallel and opposite front of Hostel. 3 courses and a bottle of San Miguel for 6 Euros. Lights not working in room on last morning at 6am so panic stations as we already woke an hour late but reliable Panda got us to airport with 15 mins to spare! Phew!
Would use again for similar trip but if with wife would want a better room en-suite.
PS For birders there's a park nearby where I spent 20 mins watching a Peregrine hunting off the apartment block opposite. Also on hills above Alhambra saw Goldfinch, Redstart, Chaffinch, and a red squirrel.

Room tip: Some rooms can't get wi-fi. Check first.
