“Great location!!!! Very nice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 January 2012

We saw this hotel in National Geographic Traveler magazine and decided to try-glad we did!
Wonderful location in old town area and easy walking to everything! We arrived in afternoon of New Year's Eve day with no reservations for dinner. Hotel staff helpful and made a good recommendation-we ended up eating earlier than would have liked-but glad we took the tip and made an afternoon reservation as most places were closed or booked and we saw so many people get turned away. Plaza del Carmen just steps away-fireworks, great band, etc. for NYE party-we had a great time.
Great Tapas bars nearby. Room was a little small-but very comfortable, clean and quiet. Huge bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend! Beautiful lobby. (free beverages)

Just got back from a great trip to Granada - such a fun and busy city. And this location is brilliant being next door to one ofthe best bars and restaurant in town - the Asador on the next block.
We upgraded to Jnr suite and it was lovely - room 302 - lovely space with comfortable sitting room for 4-6. Underground parking could be difficult so ask the hotel to send you their own map - easier to find and follow the signs - no problem!
I could see that if you just used a street map you would struggle as per some reviews below...
We chose room only and walked out to the Sq with the town hall (just 150m) and dived into a local coffee shop/Jamon palace opposite for a toastie...perfect.
We had our windows closed at nite and had no disturbances...however, the other room in our party did struggle with outside noises but they had their windows open?!? Keep em closed, no problem!

Hesperia Granada is within walking distance to everything you need in Granada: restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. It is a charming old building that has been attractively renovated. WiFi didn't work so we had to pay to use the computer in the lobby...but the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the price was right. And the bus to the fabulous Alhambra was a few minutes walk from the hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights during a recent trip. Our room overlooked the interior patio of the hotel and was subject to noice from this area at times. The TV was ancient but the interior of the room and bathroom were nice and clean. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food. The hotel is very well located and is a short walk from most of the sights. Shopping and many restaurants are nearby. No complaints but we didn't spend much time hanging out in the hotel. We walked to the Alhambra but a mini bus picks up not far away

Room Tip: interior rooms can be noisy.

Hotel is right on a square up a side street down a bus lane; GPS will not find it in my experience, streets too narrow and buildings too high for sat-nav to work... Ended up parking, getting a taxi and going back to pick up the car. Hotel car park is also best left to the professional parkers. if you can get there without a car, all the better.

Hotel itself is spotless, has some feeling of antiquity but tiled over somehow. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Food options were a bit limited although, being in the heart of the city, this was not a problem. Old Granada is a stroll away, lots of sights and restaurants, hot chocolate and churos. To visit the Alhambra, best take a taxi or bus.

Room Tip: Don't drive!

I will start by saying that their towels smelled, i am sure they where clean but they did not have a fresh smell, yuck.

I did not enjoy this hotel, the rooms where loud, the building is not very tall so even on the top floor you can hear the street noise. There is always loud crowds on the street getting out of the bars around the hotel. I am so glad i only have to spend one night there. The staff where not friendly at all, they demanded to see my passport, because my California ID was not good enough ID, although our room was prepaid with the credit card i presented at the counter along with my California ID.

I had left my passport in the safe of our hotel in Seville, i was lucky to have a xerox of the passport on my documents otherwise i dunno they might have turned us away.

I would not recommend this hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: I would avoid this hotel

Looks great on the outside, but is far from perfect if you look closer: very noisy, to begin with (you can hear every noise in the corridor and in the street), cleaning standards not very high (we found hairs in the tub), a bit shabby (tv-set was 20 years old, there was no quilt or cover on the bed, just an army hospital blanket), breakfast and parking cost extra and almost doubled the price of the room, wi-fi is available only in the lobby and the connection is rather bad. On the bright side, the staff are friendly and the location is great.
