This is a lovely palace and very quiet . It’s centrally located and extremely nice . The best thing is that there is no thirds if tourists running around , one can really enjoy the place in peace and quiet . Highly recommended !

When visiting you can either have access to just the ground floor and gardens or purchase a "complete" ticket which is for a guided tour of the appartments on the first floor as well. To see the palace at it's finest, this is worth doing.

There's a large staircase to go up to the first floor (no lift) at your designated tour time and you are met by the guide who will take you from room to room explaining more about the interior and giving a history of it's use.

If you do just have a ticket for the ground floor, make sure you also see the lovely gardens as well.

We loved our visit to Casa de Pilatos which dates to the 16th century. Its styles are very varied - with Gothic, Moorish and Renaissance elements that fuse into a magnificent whole. One of the main highlights is the decorative and colorful tile work - found everywhere on the main floor. The carved doors and ceiling decorations are also lovely. The upper floor (additional charge) was less ornate, and perhaps not worth the time and money. One of the highlights for me was the gorgeous garden - do not miss this. The garden is included in the price of the ground floor visit.

The guide (1st floor) had a strong accent when she spoke english, difficult to understand, and she looked really bored .
Beautiful palace though.
