I and 3 friends began our Andalusian vacation with 2 nights at Hotel Simon. The cost was very reasonable for the space and convenience.
The rooms were clean and of average size for an older urban hotel. But the expansive and lofty common spaces provided an air of elegance. It is confusing why this hotel is listed as a "one-star" facility, when the amenities and decor appear to qualify it for two-to-three stars.
There are elevators, free wi-fi (in the common areas), and plenty of seating for a laptop or spreading a map to plan your day. The staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. Some of the carpets were beginning to show wear, and the upholstered seating, while comfortable, could benefit from updating. But the extensive plants climbed more than two stories to the heights of the internal courtyard, and the Andalusian architecture grab more of your attention than the style of the furnishings.
Breakfast at the hotel costs a few euros extra. Some folks may like the convenience, and although it was palatable, our second morning we wisely chose to eat at a nearby café.More
