“A very nice friendly hotel in a nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 September 2011

This hotel is situated high on the cliffs overlooking San Sebastian and it's funfair. Staff spoke excellent English and couldn't do enough for you. My room had excellent views of the sea and funfair and I thoroughly enjoyed a walk into town through the funfair , taking Funicular down to beach. A late bus dropped me off back at the hotel's door for about a euro from San Sebastian Old Town. An excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: Best Views would be the rooms overlooking sea.

We stayed for 2 nights and although we were very impressed with the staff and breakfast- we felt the hotel was in urgent need of updating. The bed spreads were old and had some stains- and there were weird photos all over the walls in the room. This hotel could easily be made a lot better by replacing the bed spreads and changing the wall hangings. Also we booked a double room and were given twin beds. It's also a bit hard to get to San Sebastian as the buses stop at 10pm so If you want to have wine at dinner this makes it hard to get back. I think it's a little pricey for what you get- and next time would stay closer to town.

We stayed at Hotel Leku Eder in April. What a fantastic place high on the hill about 10 minutes away from San Sebastian. Parking is a massive problem in San Sebastian and knowing that we chose to get out of town. Parking at Hotel Leku Eder is free and what a magnificent view. Breakfast was amazing every morning and the hosts spoke English and were very polite. It certainly is tricky to get there but worth it in the end. There is a bus right outside the door to take you to town which departs every 10 minutes. We absolutely loved the hotel which was amazingly clean and comfortable for the 3 of us. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to spend some time in San Sebastian. Great place to visit. Loved every minute of it. Had 13 wonderful days travelling around spain with our car which proved difficult re parking in Spain.

If you have a car, Hotel Leku Eder is the ideal hotel in lovely San Sebastian. It is fun and easy to drive to (just follow signs to Mt. Igueldo) and has plenty of free and safe parking. The location high up on Igueldo is peaceful with lovely views all around. You can walk to the amusement park and for even more spectacular views of the city. The bus to town runs every half-hour and is an easy 15-minute ride into town for 1.20 euros each way. Very convenient as pick-up and drop-off is in front of the hotel and on the boulevard that divides old town and new town San Sebastian. Or you can get off the road that hugs the beach and stroll the beach promenade to town. Leku Eder has comfortable rooms; we had one with a balcony that faced the sea and the top with the amusement park. The restaurant, as is evident in the photos on the hotel website, really does have wonderful sea views. The rooms were kept very clean daily. The continental breakfast that came with the room rate was pretty good and substantial. The staff (Inaki, Veronica, Belen) were very friendly and helpful, always happy to give advice and suggestions for anything you needed. It is obvious that Leku Eder is a family-owned and run hotel and that the family takes pride in the hotel. The location away from the city made everything so stress-free and it was quite easy driving in and out to do sightseeing in the Basque country area. San Sebastian was our favorite place during our 3-week holiday in Spain so we very much want to return and would definitely stay at Leku Eder again.

The hotel located in a seven minute car ride from the city center. Has a free parking which is very useful in san Sebastian. There is a bus to the city center across the road from the hotel. The stuff is very nice , all speak English and very helpful. Free wi fi in the rooms. Very clean and quite large rooms. Ask for those with an ocean view. Great place to stay.

A friendly, family run hotel perched near the top of Mount Igueldo, overlooking the beautiful resort and city of San Sebastian, this is great value for money. It is relatively easy to find, if driving, and has good, free car parking. During our 2 days here we never used our car as we found it easy to get into San Sebastian, either using the cheap local bus which runs every 30 mins from right outside the hotel into the centre of San Sebastian, the nearby funicular railway or, simply, walking.
The family and staff at the hotel are friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. The views from the hotel breakfast room are gorgeous and the breakfast, itself, satisfactory, if not very exciting. Our room had a balcony with, again, stunning views. Our only slight reservation was the slightly musty smell in our bedroom but I suspect this was due to the room not having been used for a while and the very high humidity at the time.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies have stunning views over sea.

Great location for scenery above San Sebastian and cool air. Easy to get to with your car and parking is free. Convenient and reasonably-priced bus service right in front of hotel takes you to city center from morning 'til night and avoids city parking (scarce and expensive) as well as driving home after drinking fun. Breakfast was good, staff very helpful with tips, room was comfortable
