Having a young one turning 9 we needed something special to do javing been recommended loro parque by friends who habe been before this certanly fitted the bill.

About a hour transfer from out hotel we arrive at this beautiful zoo. The zoo is well kept as are the animals and theor enclosures. We decided to opt for the discovery tour which granted us behind the sceens access to some of the park areas which was both educational and breath taking. The tour was on the afternoon allowing us time to catch both the Orca show and the Dolphine show in the morning. These are not to be missed snd something non of the family had watched before.

The only small niggle was the transfer back to the hotel only having 6 hours on the zoo ment that we missed some of the attractions which was slightly dissapointing but we planned our way around and only.missed attractions we can see in zoos back in the UK. The white tigers and new lion enclosure was nice to spend a few minutes at. All the animals we saw including the impressive gorillas were a joy to watch, the food was nice and gift shop inexpensive for the perfect gift to remeber what can only be desribed as one of the highlights of our visit.

So after the some-what steep entry cost of €35 per person, we were sceptical about how well we’d spent our money; however, it was certainly money well spent.

What I particularly liked about this experience is that I got to see some amazing animals up close AND I came out very aware of the effect humans are having on the planet. The focus on animal welfare and conservation pervades every aspect of the park.

Although we visited as a couple, we commented on the reasonable prices throughout the park. You weren’t ripped off once you were in there! It’s spacious and beautifully presented. It never felt crowded or “touristy”.

The shows are a must and the new lion enclosure is brilliant.

I whole-heartedly recommend this for couples and families. Certainly the best zoo I’ve ever visited.

I have been to several zoos, but definitely Loro Parque was one of them. The staff was extra-caring, the shows were great and it is inevitable that the trainers pretty loved their animals. The enviroment is great, the animals can life freely and happily. Of course it escalates the great amount of people, so expect some crowd. But definitely "a must" of Tenerife.

We visited here on good Friday was quite busy but still enjoyed it . Shows were excellent, food was good and very reasonably priced would visit again if I was to come back to Tenerife.

Animals are not treated in the best way and the Killer Whales are taken from their habitat for entertainment purposes.
The rest of the animals are enclosed in small areas which can clearly been seen as too small for them.

It should be closed down.
