What a shame, the hotel is spotless smelt lovely all clean and fresh, location suited us perfectly a quiet area within a short stroll to town centre and beach, no problem parking our hire car each evening had to loop around the hotel a few times but majority of the time parked directly outside hotel. The hotel rooms are spacious, the pool area and garden are beautifully maintained and as previously pointed out, in a previous review it really was a step back in time to a very quaint nicely decorated hotel, but that's where it ends, this is the first time I have written a negative review but I feel that due to the attitude of the management towards their paying guests they really do need to improve in the following areas
Employ staff who can Smile (just a little smile) exception to female waiteress/cleaners it really is run by grumpy old men,who get even grumpier if you acknowledge them and God forbid if you politely request something, it was amazing how many scowls you could collect
Please recognise how much you have watered down the yoghurt at breakfast !! Orange juice was a def 80/20 mix obviously water being the greater, Filled the breakfast counters with cheap bread but not sure what you are supposed to put with it, ooh watered down jam or inedible egg,s, we are not even fussy eaters but really this was cheap tactics for what we had payed for, we gave up after 2 mornings and despite having payed HB ate out in the surrounding pleasant eateries
Overall due to the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff choose a different hotel with pleasant staff...

This hotel was quite a surprise find tucked away in a back street nearing the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz and was a bit like stepping back in time! It was quaint, charming and with super friendly and efficient staff, a great choice for a relaxing break. The place was absolutely immaculate - the staff seemed to be permanently cleaning. The pool area was spotless, and the surrounding gardens were well maintained. The fitness room was great too! The food was hot! And well presented. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing quiet holiday within walking distance though of the town centre. A true little gem! Delivered to our hotel by the ever efficient transfer service that we always use speedytransfers.co.uk.

To the positive side: the hotel is clean.

The negatives:
The walls are paper-thin. You can hear everything happening around you. Really. Everything.
The breakfast was ok. Not good, but okay. But the horror arrived with the dinner: first of all, you never know what you are eating. None of the foods names was displayed, not even if its fish, or chicken, or pork...
The quality of the dinner was terrible. Even for a three-star hotel. Cheapest ingredients you can imagine. All day basically the same food. The worst was that they allways re-used the previous day s leftovers. Maybe thats why they never displayed what you are eating...
Even though we were on half-borad, we did not get anything to drink during dinner. We had to pay even for a glass of water....

Stay away from this hotel.

Hotel was about average, great location, basic rooms, clean shower, food was good, but behaviour of older receptionist strange..no smile, no effort to speak in English and no effort to help much with anything if they find out you are not from Spanish or German speaking country. We stayed for one week, did a lot of trekking so we did not care about hotel and after pasive acting on our questions we tried to explore city a plan trips in island rather on our own

Quiet hotel (inside only), rooms are clean and even spacious. Excellent location for city trips and nearby very nice beach (despite the fact that is in the middle of the city). If you stay in high season there is impossible to find place for car, you can prowl precinct as policeman, after a few days it is quite funny.
But the best is the manager - tall man - "germen style" - strict, concrete, very helpful just ask him. He knows value of the hotel, location, prices ratios, hotel's facilities. It was pleasure to chat with him. Greetings!
Fiestas are almost every day in the city, sometimes till midnight (morning), sometimes start at 5 a.m. with loud drums under you windows. Colorful processions, crowded streets filled by smiled people it was truly amazing.
And please do NOT feed the cat, I hope it still live.

Room tip: Corner, under the roof, building D (behind the pool) = sea&roof view or fiestas view
