VERY "tired" hotel!! It needs redecoration and a upgrade of the entire hotel!! The beds was hard, espesialy the extra bed! The covers in the beds was "not-inviting" All round the staff was great, but a litle "old-fashion" in the reseption.

I would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff at Masaru Apartments, we spent 6 nights here on our family holiday and was in Room 149. Not only is the hotel facilities great. The staff made our stay, the lady who works in the bar at night is so friendly and never stops smiling, the Gentleman who does the evening entertainment is a true asset to your business and made my little girls holiday come true. i could go on and on from the housekeeping staff to reception nothing was too much trouble. Free wi-fi was a great bonus. We only ate in the restaurant once, and unfortunately for us it was on our last night, because if we had of done from day one we would of been in there every night the food was superb. Thank you so so much you really did make our holiday, From the Shaw Family

This is our second stay here. Our studio apartment was spacious enough to relax and had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The kitchenette had a fridge, microwave and hob but no kettle. Buffet breakfast was included and was good and we ate out for dinner. The hotel is conveniently located for the many restaurants in La Paz but is at the top of a long flight of steps if you want the beach and town centre. There is a good bus service from nearby to the town centre and in the other direction to Santa Cruz and the airports. Get a prepaid Bono card for reduced fares on the buses.

The Masaru is easy to find, near the Botanic Gardens. If driving there, you can park by the entrance to unload but then have to move your car up the hill.

We got to our apartment to find water on the floor from a partial defrosting of the fridge. The coat hooks came off the wall. You had to get a TV remote from reception and, as usual, there were no interesting English language channels. There's a 50% chance of a room with a view and we were unlucky, overlooking the (reasonably quiet) street. We had asked for a twin room but actually got two twin beds made up as a double.

So a few minor grizzles. On the plus side, the staff were all friendly, responsive and helpful. The apartment had everything we needed, and was kept beautifully clean each day (except Saturday presumably because that's the main changeover day). There was a bath as well as a shower which made my wife happy!

We self catered and didn't use any of the other hotel facilities.
