We spent a week in a room on fourth floor & view to the pool. The hotel is worn out but clean. The staff was very friendly though they spoke only few words of English. Best part of the hotel is the big pool with lots of sun! The view up the volcano was nice too.

Worst part was the bed - it was hard and pillows hurt my neck by the end of the week.

Surroundings of the hotel were quiet and nice. You should note that most of the restaurants are down the hill and you have too be fit to visit there often - but the cabs are really cheap, only 3,50€ to the "centre".

We went self catering and thought our apartment was perfectly sufficient for our needs, clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Best bit was they had a bath/shower rather than just a shower. The view of the mountains from the balcony was gorgeous and the area was extremely quiet at night.
There a few restaurants and shops around the hotel which are nice and there's a cab stand right round the corner which is handy. Cabs are cheap and set prices, about €4 to the main town centre.
Lovely place and beautiful scenery

My wife and I were only here for four nights and had the "bed and breakfast" deal. It was good value for money, the packed restaurant was proof of that.
The amenities were very good, with great entertainment on each night.
The room was good, had all of the basics.
The staff were brilliant.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the pool area.

Easy, nicely working apartementos hotel. Rooms are a little bit old, but clean and quite big.
Nice pool area, also own pool for children. Lifeguard during pool time.

Bar nearby pool, all drinks you might need and also some food, snacks and ice cream. All tasted good.

Very friendly personal, allways willing to help.

Car renting possibility is a bonus

We stayed at the Masaru for a week. Nothing to complain about, everything worked fine. We had a room (a studio) on the second floor, the view was to the mountains.
The breakfast was very good, all kind of choices.. We dined outside so I have no comment on the dinner.
The room had a little kitchenette with a little stove and a good size fridge. Didn't have a coffeemaker but had the glasspot and a filter funnel(?) so we could still make our own ( I like coffee and like to have a lot of it :) ).
The beds were good, we had 2 singles that we pushed together, extra pillows in the closet and thay also had a light blanket so you wouldn't get cold. No need for an ac there.. You could hear the people in the next room, but it didn't bother us. We probably made our own noise.. For the nighttime we turned on the cooker hood(?) so the night time noises/quite didn't keep us up.
The housekeeeping and cleaning was excellent. There was always someone cleaning something somewhere.
The wifi worked beautifully! A wonder actually.. It was a bit of a challenge to get it on, the directions were a bit strange, but I wouldn't give up :) Try the username for the network name etc.. It worked everywhere for us. Even in the restaurants near the hotel.
The hotel has a big pool, a nice garden area and space enough for everyone. The hotels location was good, shops and restaurants near and about a 15-20 min walk downtown.

I can also answer in finnish, so send a message if you need info on the hotel..

It's a oxymoron of a hotel the place is clean in fact spotless - even wiping down the real plants leaves honest! The hotel is being renewed - new carpets, suites etc but in the style of 1985 again honestly. The staff is again a mixture the majority where really nice and friendly but a few were so dismissive it was embarrassing. The hotel has a definite bias towards elderly German clients as does the local area but the beer and sausage are great so win win.
Breakfast was ok but don't expect full English- never seen warm carrots and corn for brekky. There's a little cafe on site but it is little although there's an outside seating area - just don't expect to get served quickly. The hotel is situated near a small number of bars and restaurants but otherwise it's fundamentally half way up a very very big hill so mobility can be an issue especially as most things locally shut at midnight in March.
Would I go back probably not but then again I'm not an octogenarian Berliner
