A lovely hotel an easy walk into Toledo and lovely views from the rooms. But, and this is a big but, the restaurant isn't open every day. I was looking forward to spending a leisurely afternoon and evening on my balcony, sipping wine, and eating tapas. Had I not stayed on a Monday night that might have happened. Worth checking the restaurant hours before you book a room.
Given that the hotel is outside the city and not really near anything other than a different high end restaurant (maybe 100 yards away) it seems a mistake not to have something available everyday. Need not be a full meal, but some tapas and the bar open would be great. Otherwise it's a 15 minute walk to a convenience store for chips and such, or a 20 minute walk back into Toledo.
As noted elsewhere, the walk from the hotel to Toledo is relatively easy, a nice stroll downhill along the river. That means the walk back is uphill, which is still nice, but at the end of a day worth bearing in mind.
I had a room on the upper level with a small balcony facing Toledo. The room was big and the views are stunning. A terrific place to sit and relax. Very much liked the hotel - but the restaurant remains a sticking point.More
