Second attempt as it was closed the first time we went. We had a great night, my husband is vegetarian and Veronica was a very gracious host and looked after us very well. Carmelo made sure they drinks were just right. A lovely local restaurant with exceptional service. Thank you it will be a treasured memory of Barcelona 2017, celebrating my husbands 50th birthday xxx

Delightful little family-run tapas bar. The service was excellent. They went out of their way to accommodate my husband who is gluten-free. The food was delicious and everything tasted fresh and homemade.

My cousin and I (from the United States) were walking down the streets from visiting Park Güell and we passed by this place when we were looking where to eat. The restaurant is in an old building so don't be deceived by the outside appearance, the experience inside is worth having.

Although we both are not fluent in Spanish, they both can speak English and welcomed us in with smiles. They took the time to answer our questions and explained the entire menu for us. You get a sense of who they are from the way they decorate the bar walls and the restaurant with their quirky style. The music was soothing switching from jazz to soul with the right amount of lighting to set a relaxing mood.

We ordered several recommended tapas, all of it was so good that we ordered a second round of more dishes. In between eating, we exchanged great conversations with Veronica and Carmelo in learning about each other, the cultures, and how they started this lovely eatery. We ordered these delicate, beautifully presented desserts that were rich in flavors. They also gave us cookies and shots on the house.

My cousin saw that there were 3 other tourists outside who looked like they were were searching for a place to eat. My cousin encouraged them to dine in here and the other tourists thanked us for bringing them in because they also really enjoyed the food, drinks, and service.

For the large amount of food and drinks that my cousin ordered, you get great portions for the amount you pay and it wasn't expensive. Before we left, we cheered with shots.

When I returned to the United States, I told everyone about Xiloka because that was the best eating experience for me on this trip. If I return to Barcelona, I will definitely be coming back here again. Thank you Veronica, Carmelo, and Mechi for giving my cousin and I wonderful memories here that go beyond just eating.

Everyone needs to eat here, I highly recommend it!
