This B&B is pretty close to perfect... wonderful location and great neighbourhood, charming, friendly and helpful people, and a great breakfast. Good transit is close by and I walked in one direction tote Barcelona Convention Centre and the other way into the old parts of the city. The little community of shops and restaurants half a block over was interesting to visit and clearly not a touristic location, but one meant to serve the community.
My only concern was with the room I had on the first floor facing the street. While the bed and other furlongs were all very fine, sadly, there was a constant smell of sewer gas coming from the bathroom I think, and it meant keeping the room window open at night (or whenever I was in the room) to clear out the fumes. At least in mid-October when I was there, there was not a lot of traffic noise (or people noise for that matter) later in the evening so having the fresh air blowing through the room didn't also involve lots of disturbing noises.
So while if I return to Barcelona (and I hope I will have that chance!), I would definitely look to stay at Hotel Pablenou but would not stay in the downstairs front room until I was sure they had solved the sewer gas problem.More
