This pedestrian mall stretches 1.5 Km from Placa de Catalunya at the North end to the Christopher Columbus Memorial in Port Vell at the South end. There are plenty of things to see and do along the street. The Gothic Quarter is just East of La Rambla. The Mercat de la Boqueria is just to the West of La Rambla. Keep an eye out for people posing as statues. It’s a great place to people watch.

Sorry, I have written plenty of great reviews about Barcelona, but Las Ramblas ranks low on my review list. Every 25 feet a vendor with the same merchandise. some pretty pushy. Nothing really unique.
On the other hand building-wise and musea are worth the visit. I suggest to come very early in the day to avoid the "sardine-in-a-can" feeling.

Very pleasant way to spend an afternoon - look forward to returning. Was a full day of walking and shopping.

Been to Barcelona a couple of times. Fantastic city with lots to explore and enjoy! For us, Las Ramblas is not that special. Very crowded, tacky stalls, overpriced bars. So many lovely streets to explore just off Las Ramblas.
Prefer the gothic quarter.

This is a beautiful pedestrian walkway with shops, food, performers and more. Traffic is shunted off to the sides, allowing priority to pedestrians. We were there shortly before the terrorist attack at Las Ramblas, and had dined at the kosher restaurant which was the terrorists' target.
