Owner description: Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself. We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct: - Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes. - City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes. - City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes. - Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes. - Taxi to Park Guell

There’s no denying that the view from all areas of the park are absolutely stunning!

However, I found the organisation of it a bit strange and difficult to work out. You don’t have to pay to enter but do if you want to visit the museum and see inside the main area. We decided not to do that as have seen lots of Gaudi’s work in other areas of the city.

It’s definitely a must see place but unless you want to see more mosaics, the view and park is enough!

I got to the Park about 30 minutes before the official opening time of the Monumental Zone and a security guard there said I could go in for free. There were also a number of other people in the Monumental Zone already.

I had arrived at the Park by taking the L3 Metro line to Lesseps station then walked about 20 minutes up the hill, following the direction signs, to the Park. This leads to the Av. Sant Josep de la Muntanya entrance. From here, I walked down to the Monumental Zone to the main entrance at Carrer D’Olot.

Once the Park officially opened, I got a free guide map to the Monumental Zone from the attendant at the main gate entrance. Restoration work was ongoing in the Park and parts were closed off.

Very weird architecture, failed housing development project, yet intriguing to view. Shows that housing has to be practical, not just imaginative.

This is one of the most amazing places. The crazy imagination of Gaudi came to life with this park and it's amazing what a man can do. It's definitely a place not to miss in Barcelona. Too bad that's so crowded and it's hard to take a beautiful picture without any person in it.

The park never seems overcrowded even when there are lots of people there, there is always somewhere to go for peace and quiet. It is quite a steep walk up to the park so wear comfortable walking shoes, but the views across the city are worth it!
