This is a good 5 star hotel, with all the usual facilities you would expect. Quick and efficient check-in on 5th floor. Nice bar, pool and well equipped fitness center - also a short walk to the beach and to the metro - so well located.

Breakfast buffet was really excellent. Huge selection good attentive staff.

But the rooms is what makes me give only 4 points. They are a complete triumph of design over anything practical. They look beautiful, but totally impractical. The taps look beautiful, but have not apparent markings, so good luck turning the water on and getting the right temperature.
The lighting system too was interesting - a beautiful panel, which was so used the markings had rubbed off, so I had no idea what was what. And if you have never used a Bang & Olufsen remote control, good luck. And heaven forbid an practical electrical socket would spoil the beautiful smooth curves of the wall. As I mentioned a triumph of design over practicality

My last gripe was the cost. For the exorbitant price of the hotel, you think a coffee in your room would be included. Nope the Nespresso coffee sets you back €4 a cup. Be warned.

This is a nice hotel, well appointed all the way down to Bang & Olufsen sound system, turn down service, fresh flowers every day, etc. but it comes at a price. Mixed drinks in the lobby bar are USD$25! Food in the immediate area is outrageously priced. Watch your wallet and other valuables in this area too, many pick pockets. At least three in our group had their iPhone's lifted.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel in business in a perfect junior suite with a stunning view. The room was fantastic with all the details you would need and like. Service very good amd the atmosphere very pleasant. The location is good and within a 20 minutes walk you are in the old parts of Barcelona. Only disruptive minor were the iron bars disturbing the view, on the other hand might have kept me from work ;)!

From the moment I arrived delayed from Munich, the welcome and service has been as you would expect of such a prestigious hotel. The rooms are certainly on a par with the Hyatt Regency in Hamburg - the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Meeting and banquet facilities are super and the staff in all areas make even a business stay a pleasure.
The gym is quite well equipped although could be a little bigger and cooler, with maybe more free weights, and less machines - but this is a minor point.
Suffice to say even a heavy business schedule can be made more manageable in this environment.

Room tip: Try to get a room with a sea or marina view - much better than the view up the inner ring road.

Fabulous Hotel and you get very Ritz(y) service. Staff is just great and sometimes (positively) overwhelm you with greetings from different sides as you walk down the lobby.

Closer to Metro 5-7 mins walk (Ciuda Olympia). If you don't mind walking for 30 mins so by the sea or Barcelonetta to Ramblas. Morning sunrise is perfect and you can walk interesting places restaurants in Barcelonetta.

Not impressed with Club Lounge.
