“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

I really love this building of Gaudí. The exterior as well as the interior are overwhelming. Everything is well considered built. Gaudí was a great architect for his time. Nothing is straight but rounded and wavy. There is so much to see and learn.
A must see of Barcelona. During high season I would recommend to book tickets in advance to avoid long queues.

“Architectural fantasy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

Beautiful and unusual from the outside. Crowds to get inside were daunting. Sat at nearby restaurant Tenorio's sidewalk cafe and ate lunch looking at the building and the crowds waiting to get in.

“Gaudi's gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

Last time I was in Barcelona, it wasn't possible to visit Casa Batllo so I'd almost forgotten about it, but it's a real gem, with seascapes being the underlying theme. Glorious blue tiling and stained glass create a real sense of the sea, when combined with the curvilinear carvings. The roof top which resembles a sleeping dragon is pure fantasy. The gift shop , however, is pricey and we gave it a miss.

“Fascinating and Different”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

The outside of this building is very intriguing, but inside it gets even better. It was very crowded during our visit, but this did not spoil our enjoyment of this unique architectural gem.
Look out for the dragon staircase and the stained glass in the room upstairs. The lightwell is also amazing, and the attic is a work of art.
Up on the roof, the wonders continue with the dragon shaped roof and all the mosaic chimneys.
This is a must see in Barcelona.

Hard to believe. this man's architecture from the 1800's is soooo contemporary and way ahead of his time.
