We went to Barcelona in the last week of May 2012. We stayed at Citadines fro five nights and it was not such a comfortable stay.
Firstly the hotel had no facility to pick the luggage from the taxi. We had to walk half a km with our heavy suitcases and 2 children and a stroller to the hotel since there is no parking outside the hotel and the Taxi dropped off way ahead.
The hotel staff was very helpful though.
The plus side was the location of the hotel. everything was nearby. there was a good super mart called carrefour opposite the hotel where we went and stocked up on water and other things.
the negetive was that there wasn't any cleaning service available . If we needed daily cleaning we had to pay 33 euros. Also to get new towels they asked for 11 euros. Considering we were staying there for 5 nights we had to pay for extra towels and cleaning.
overall it was an okay property.
would only recommend because of location.

Room Tip: we took the rooms at the back of the Hotel overlooking the square .

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel last April with family before embarking on a cruise. We searched this travel site and 2 other online travel sites for the best deals in Las Ramblas. Finally we decided on the Citadines Las Ramblas.

This hotel is right on Las Ramblas. Very good location. It is close to many boutiques, flamenco shows, restaurants and convenience stores. The lobby is contemporary although one can sense a little bit of age in the interior.

As this was built to be a serviced apartment our room was spacious. Aside from the bed area it had a fully-equipped kitchenette with enough utensils to help us prepare/reheat food. Bathroom was decent as well as the bed, chairs, study table, TV and other room features. This hotel's advantage is really its extra space. It's good for families. The room had contemporary design as can be seen in its photos. It is a little aged, but still forgivable. If you are looking for a sleek, modern hotel room this is not for you.

As we arrived past midnight we were checked in by a receptionist that should only be assigned during the night shift. Unfortunately he was bland and did not provide a warm welcome. He would not even leave his chair to help us with malfunctioning doorknobs. Good thing they were eventually fixed.

For the overall experience I would think twice about coming back to this hotel. It's saving grace are its location, above average room size and kitchen. If you're big on friendly staff and modern interiors go somewhere else.

Citadines is a practical hotel, with the kitchen in the room. Perfect location to walk everywhere in Barri Gotic or any other places in town. Would go back there!

Stayed here from May 10 - 13 prior to a cruise. Friendly staff directed us to the nearby Farmers Market for fresh fruit, bread as well as Serrano ham and local cheeses. Lots of eating places though it is much more fun to wander down the side streets into the odd courtyard filled with more places for tapas and paella. Walking distance to the Place Catalunya in one direction and the waterfront in the other (not far from the cruise terminals). Subway and bus lines run along this short street. The apartment hotel concept makes it economical if you want to cook some of your own meals. Staff informed us that there will be renovations on this property later in the year since some things need to be updated.

Will consider staying here again on the next visit!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter and overlook the remains of an old Roman cemetery and a couple of cafes. Rooms at the front look out on the bustle of La Ramblas.

The location is great, on the Rambla. The room was ok, a little worn. We got a room facing the Rambla, but there was no noise as long as the window was closed. Dull breakfast, so if it's not included, eat somewhere else!
