“Excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2012

We chose the hotel based on trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed at all.
We stayed with our 3 children ages 13, 11 and 8 yrs, they loved the gym and the all day snacks and when tired from all the sightseeing it was a great retreat.
The photos do not do it justice and the level of accomodation of a higher quality than I imagined, better than the Ikea looking photos and very simply but stylishly designed.
Very minimalist in style but great for my husband who has allergies and where the curtains and carpets in most hotels cause him a lot of discomfort.
The hammock and sitting room is in fact opposite your room across the corridor which I hadn't realised from the website, we didn't use ours but the kids did.
The staff were very "happy" which was a nice, quite cool and laid back. The general manger is exactly this so it obviously rubs off on the staff.
We loved it and it was a perfect retreat while exploring a very busy city.
The snacks were great, breakfast was good, small portions compared to other hotels/countries I have stayed in.

We loved Barcelona and this hotel. The location was brilliant, five minutes walk from Las Rambla and Playa Catalunya where the bus from the airport stops. The staff were friendly, informative and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and the shower was tremendous. We did not use the mini lounge across the corridor much, although it was nice to be able to look out on to the street. Breakfast was delicious and the chef charming. Having the snack bar for coffee and water whenever you need it is also good. Our favourite restaurant nearby was Original, near the Contemporary Art Museum. We would definitely return here when we next visit Barcelona - hopefully before too long.

Room Tip: Maybe a suite if you want more room space although the ordinary room was fine.

I don't like to go across a hall to be in my bedroom, and I don't like "hammocks". Perhaps I am to old for these things. But there were young people there that seemed happy. Also some of the staff I found not so good.
It is in a quiet place, this is nice. The design has some interesting ideas and a lot of colour. The hotel is near to the Placa de Catalunya, this is very good for public transport and for taxis. It is also close to the MACBA and the CCCB for good exhibition and art, and there are nice cafes and restaurants that are not so much for tourists. I liked that it is close to the centre of the city, but in a quiet place. If I go back to Barcelona I will not stay in this hotel I think.

This is the hight of cool! The hotel pushes the whole Camper brand ethos and everything evolves from that. I stayed for one night on business and absolutely loved it. The room was seperated into two areas each side of the upstairs corridor, bedroom bathroom in one and your own personal lounge complete with hammock in the other. The staff are bright and very helpful and the whole place just oozes laid back cool. Camper flip flops sit by your bedside and the accessories in the bathroom are amazing. The room is adorned with logos and anecdotes and the overall feeling is that of comfort and warmth. the only downside is that they do not really have a bar area and the breakfast is limited. But they do have a 24 hour complimentary buffet that you just help yourself to. i like it the place a lot!

Room Tip: First floor with lounges all good

We booked here based on TA recommendations and the location. On our arrival we soon got a feel for the excellent warmth and service from staff.
The rooms are functional rather than aesthetic but all nice quality and very clean. Unless a suite is booked the lounge is a room straight across the corridor, not perfect but it works. Breakfast is a bit basic but nothing is too much trouble for staff. The 24hr free drinks (not booze) and snacks is nice but the food options vary and what gets put out in the morning are not topped up (when we were there) so many items ran out by late afternoon.
Location is central but away from areas that could be noisey.
Great place, we'd come back if visiting Barcelona again.

If you want waiters in black tie wishing you a good day, and soft squishy chintzy armchairs - DONT COME HERE. It's a minimalist dream. It's right in the centre of town, but in a cobbled side-street so no noise other than the chatter of passers by. Its dark and moody with trendy little details, like lit up his & hers teddy bear lights and a single gaudi-esque sculpture, and a lone bicycle. There's a free permanently open cafe, with fruit juices, tea & coffee, pastries, sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt soup & wraps. Just help yourself or take a tray to your room. We loved that. It was easy and immediate and unfussy. Our room (suite 15), had a lovely big bed with a TV and some open shelving, and a separate lounge. This was our only complaint. The lounge was a bit too brutally minimalist for us. It contained a sofa and chair and table and TV. The hammock was a cute touch but the sofa was very spartan, not squishy or comfy, and not conducive to a night snuggled up infront of TV when it rained (which it did - but then it always does when we go away). The bath was a bit small but the bathroom was fine with good products and a groovy view over a huge (HUGE) tower of aspadistras outside in the yard. The staff were excellent, distrete, helpful and charming. There's an apple computer at the desk for us to use and they cook you a fresh breakfast. We really liked the atmosphere. So. Two things stopping it from being perfect. No comfy chairs in the room to veg out in, oh , and the hairdryer was rubbish. Definitely recommend it if minimalism or anonimity is how you like to travel.

Room Tip: We had the suite with 2 rooms behind 1 door but the others seemed to have bedrooms with suites oppos...
