I have been waiting a long time to review this property. The owner made it very difficult for us to review it by not listing it on popular travel booking sights.
At last I can tell you what happened to us.
When we first booked the property the owner was very friendly and helpful. Even upon arrival the check-in person was friendly and accommodating.
The trouble started so thereafter.
It was a hot day in Barcelona when we arrived and we immediately went to turn on the A/C. It would not work. We called the front desk and informed her of the problem. She said she would contact the owner and get someone right out. I took nearly three hours for the repair person to arrive. Since we had a full evening of sightseeing planned and did not want our kids to miss out on it, I had to stay behind while my husband went out with the kids.
When the repairman finally arrived it took him a matter of minutes to determine that the A/C was in fact broken. He said he could fix it, but it would have to wait until Monday (it was now Saturday). To her credit, the owner did send up a fan. Not that it helped that much. It just moved the hot air around.
Well after a very hot and sleepless night we all got up to take showers and go off to see more sights. New problem...no hot water. To make matters even worse, there was nobody available that Sunday to help us. Not the front desk person, and not the owner. We tried calling the owners "Emergency Number" over two dozen times to get help. Nothing.
We ended up calling the booking agency we used, HouseTrip, and they stepped in. The owner responded to them immediately, but still would not call us.
Long story short, the owner did nothing, we ended up leaving to find another place to stay for the remainder of our three night stay in Barcelona, and we had to pay for one night at an apartment that had not A/C and no hot water.
Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere and avoid The Art Gallery Apartment 1A in Barcelona.
