“Ley them do........”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

My favourite restaurant in Barcelona since 25 years ago.
No menu, just let them bring the dishes. Honestly speaking the best way for foreigners not used to the local seafood and fish to tast dishes they would probably not request with an menu as the names are not known.
Price higher than average (aprox 100 euro) yes, but food quality aswell.
Freshest seafood and fish, but as last main course you can choose also to get great meat. (They will ask you do not worry, but only for this last dish)
In average 7-9 dishes, usually with "Cava" to drink but you can order best wines also.
Outside the building you cannot read anything announcing that there is an restaurant.
Service excellent, magisterially leaded by maitre Modesto during dinner and directly by owner Joan Manubens during lunch time. You will hardly find better places in the world, unique.
World famous actors, singers, sportsmen etc, cannot be wrong, they know why to go there.
Enjoy it .....

“Expensive but Delicious”
Reviewed 2 January 2012

Fantastic, fresh seafood and great service -- but they see tourists coming and you pay accordingly. We were told to expect a huge meal -- which is what we got -- but I later saw people with menus ordering a la carte. In retrospect, if we'd done that we would have missed some of their incredible dishes, like the succulent, sweet crayfish, which are a house specialty. Service is very friendly and accommodating. We'd return -- but order from the menu next time.

“Exceptional all round experience.”
Reviewed 2 January 2012

Although I had been living in barcelona for a few months I had not heard of this restaurant (possibly because none of my poor teacher friends could afford to eat here). Finding the restaurant was a challenge in itself, we must have walked past the entrance twice before we asked a local who pointed us in the right direction. The entrance is quite unassuming, you walk down a corridor to the restaurant door, but once you are inside the ambience is lovely. returning from the rest room I found that champagne had arrived without being ordered and it turns out this was the theme for the rest of the evening. Course after course arrived without us having looked at a menu once. Every dish was remarkable. The acorn fed iberican ham melted in my mouth, the sea snails were delicious served on a bed of hot salt, a velvety baby squid ink paella was divine and the prawns were huge succulent mediterranean prawns cooked only in garlic and olive oil. The champagne flowed freely and by the end of the evening I was quite tipsy, so unfortunately can't remember the puddings.
The whole experience and the service was incredible, I can not recommend it highly enough.
