We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. The location is perfect- we rarely had to get public transport and just walked to the Gothic Quarter when we went out at night. We arrived early and were given our room at 12.30pm which was much appreciated. We had a first floor room street facing with a balcony. I'll admit there was noise at night but we aren't light sleepers and we liked being so close to the action so this wasn't a con! The room was minimalist but met our needs and the bathroom/ shower was great. The room was cleaned daily with the towels and little luxuries changed and also the bed was made up. The room was plenty big and pitch black when the windows and curtains were closed. The breakfast buffet was lovely and worked out well for €8.50. They also have a locked left luggage facility and put our passports in their safe for us. Reception staff were extremely helpful and overall we had a great stay.

The location is ideal which is why I gave it 2 stars. The walls of the rooms are so thin u can practically hear what the person in the other room is thinking . Breakfast is poor. Room is not cleaned nor the bed sheets changed for 6 days , they just empty the garbage bin and fix the bed. Wifi is available but is awful . Signal breaks every 10 minutes. U have to search for a good signal all over the room , I turned off my wifi and settled with the Orange line I got ( ps: don't do my mistake and take orange it is terrible , get Vodafone especially if your planning to do to camp nou )

We stayed for 2 nights a few weeks ago.
The hotel was quite nice. modern and clean.
Room was ok, walls painted dark red which made the room look dark even with the lights on, and we could keep the curtain open as all we had was a long window that people could see in as our room was next to the lift!
but we didn't spend much time in the room.
Free wifi which was nice. great shower too.
big plus is the location. 2 mins walk to las rambla.
would recommend. good value for money.

Location was pretty close to Ramblas, which was good.
Room was average; undecorated, beds quite stiff, nice balcony (ask wiew to the street!)
No fridge or minibar in the room.
Shower was bad, water didn't stay warm.
Friendly staff and ok breakfast for 8 euros.

Room tip: Upper floor ja balcony to the street

We travelled to Barcelona in October and it was love at first sight!
The city is so beautiful and the weather in October was great.
Hotel Ciutat Vella is having modern and clean rooms. The breakfast is manageable - you don't have a large selection but it is very good - I especially remember the delicious chocolate croissants :-) The hotel have a great location, in a side street of the La Rambla promenade, nearby the Placa Catalunya where we arrived by a shuttle bus from the airport.
If you would like to enjoy a pleasant and quite stay you should take a room faced to the inner court yard. We had a room with a nice view to the side street. In the morning it was very loud, because there is a small restaurant and a café in front of the hotel - but it was not further disturbing for us. The only thing was, that there was no Minibar in our room and that the hotel is not offering bathrobe for the Jaccuzzi. Anyway - we had a faboulous time, and I am definitely recommeding this hotel!
