Sushi in Catalonia does not leap to mind as one’s first choice in dining, but this adventurous restaurant delivers an unusual variety of treats along with some of the standards. In the former category, I would definitely place their Italiano Maki. A traditionalist would flinch at the idea of salmon, basil, avocado, asparagus, and mozzarella all crammed together into a maki; but for the bold epicurean, this little package evokes a sense of wonder—it is really good. The traditionalist will be delighted with the Kibuki maki of eel and avocado, or with the softshell crab with Ponzu sauce. Kitsune also offers an excellent selection of saki—even if you are unfamiliar with the choices, order a bottle anyway for the perfect complement to your sushi.
