Shops to suit every taste and every budget. Several theatres. Crowded, of course, but not to be missed when visiting Madrid. However, wear comfortable shoes, lots of walking, and be especially vigilant with personal belongings.

my friend and I walked up this street several times during our recent stay. If shopping is your thing, then this area will suit you well. Nice shops, and cafes to visit, and many interesting streets leading off it.

This street is a dream for shoppers where they could find large branded shops all over. The architecture of the street is well maintained and symbolises the Spanish way.

Typical main shopping street with a mix of usual high street names, spanish shops, eating places and theatres. Slightly spoilt by the amount of building work and roadworks in places.
