Hotel Cortezo is a fairly average hotel in Madrid. The location is handy for walking around the center and shopping. The asian food market down the street is quite good for a bite to eat.
The room was clean but very noisy, as the hotel is located next to a nightclub you could hear people singing, talking and shouting until dawn which wasn't ideal. We also encountered a nasty argument between what seemed to be a drug dealer and his client when we were getting back to the hotel after dinner one night.
The staff are pleasant and helpful but the breakfast is mediocre - industrial, processed baked goods, no fresh fruit apart from a few apples - give it a miss.
It was ok but wouldn't stay there again.More
