This was the only flamenco venue we visited in Madrid but it was as good as shows we have seen elsewhere in Spain. The club itself in the old town is atmospheric being below a small bar area, down in the cellar of the building. The stage is tiny but provides enough space for a singer, three very fine musicians - a drummer, superb violinist and a guitarist - and two dancers. The limited space itself allowed all the necessary passion of this incredible dance form to be communicated to a small, intimate audience. It was a pity that it was just an hour; a longer performance would have been a pleasure.
