This is a great hotel, excellent location, excellent customer service.

Only criticism no iron facilities, rooms are outdated and hotel could do with modernisation

Restaurant could do with a revamp of their menu and buffet

Room Tip: choose a room outside the lifts

Absolutely lovely hotel, great staff, good position, 150m to beach and nightlife. More suited to the more mature customer. STAFF were very friendly and extremely helpful all the time. One younger guy at evening time ignored my wife who was standing there at the desk like a lemon for a few minutes but a small blip in an otherwise very good hotel for Benidorm. Absolutely lovely decor (a bit 70's but very plush with nice leather sofas and so very comfortable in an aztec/inca style) . Food in my opinion is not as good as some people say on tripadvisor but it is your typical 4 star hotel quality. We found a lot of the food quite salty such as their sausages, but the orange juice is the best in the world! At the time we went, It was from oranges picked literally a couple of miles down the road and were so very delicious!

Dont expect a large hotel complex. Because of the size constraints in Benidorm you have a pool which is quite small and so dont expect water shutes and so on.

The room was made up adequately by the maid, but we never knew if she would be there at 9:30 am or 3pm - that could be better. Tea from the bar was only available after 5pm and as an avid tea connoseur I rather missed my mid day cuppa. There are not tea facillities in the rooms (well there wasnt in ours!) If your listening Don Pancho people, please offer some tea facillities earlier in the day!

To be fair it is more of a place where you should go if you enjoy a quiet stay, suitable for the more mature who like ballroom dancing, but very nice if you just want a quiet place to go back to. One major feature was how happy all the other guests were. Dont go there if you dont like lifts or heights, it is about 17 stories or so.

Benidorm excelled our expectations and was made even more enjoyable by staying at the Don Pancho.

stayed 1 week in the middle of march 2012, 1 day of rain, rest of the week was very hot, service at the don pancho is excellent, rooms are dated but very clean, all rooms face the pool area, some rooms have walk in shower some have bath. maid service daily, resort quiet this time of year, plenty of room on beach. not happy with ian thomson rep, informing people to use ( if needed ) private levante hospital, told us,if we used the private clinica benidorm hospital no thomson reps would give us support, ??? maybe thomson holidays could comment on this one. the hotel is mainly used by the more mature people, just a short walk down a little street and there you are on the lovely clean sea front, flat, no hills no stairs, plenty of seats along the prom, lovely, thank you don pancho for another lovely stay,

Room Tip: we had room, 513, with a walk in shower, the hotel is very high, so if like me you dont like to be o...

We have stayed at the Don Pancho twice now. Would certainly use this again. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food excellent, something for everyone. Rooms a bit dated but spotlessly clean. All rooms have sea view and we were able to choose which floor we wanted to be on. Plenty of lifts to use. The hotel is in the centre of everything. Bus stops opposite to nearby towns and shopping mall. Market 10 minute walk. Plenty of shops, bars etc nearby. Benidorm has something for all ages and I love it. The old town has a lovely atmosphere especially in the evening. A lovely walk along the beach promenade.

Room Tip: If you do not lie heights go centre and you still have good views and the end rooms are a little lar...

Fancied a short break over Easter and after reading reviews decided to give the Don Pancho a go. We were not disappointed.

It was clean and the fact that all rooms face the sea is good although on floor 15 we didnt actually catch the sun (maybe better in summer).

Room had been partially refurbed and was a little on the cosy side, size wise. Feel that coffee making facilities should be provided although the free towels for use at the pool always appreciated.

No problems with sun beds although come the height of the season could see this as a problem as a smallish area around pool and only 150 ish beds for 252 rooms.

Reasonable choice of food although breakfast was lacking the "egg chef" that other 4 stars have. Service and staff Ok.

Cater for older market with dancing in the evening although nobody forces you to stay in the hotel and Benidorm has plenty of other entertainment venues!

We would stay again although only for up to a week and not in the peak season.

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel, we chose it again because we were in need of a rest and some sunshine, which we had both. Although this hotel is only a street away from the madness of Benidorm, we were never aware of it. All the rooms face the sea and the lovely prom, which is only a street away. The majority of the guests were older than ourselves which did not worry us as we have heard other holidaymakers complaining about groups of Stags and Hen parties in other hotels, so this was a bonus at the Don Pancho. As other people have said, the hotel is spotlessly clean as are the rooms and bathrooms, although now I think it is about time for a refurb as everything is a little dated, having said that the restaurant is bright and airy and the bedrooms are comfy. The food isn't exceptional but again we always found something nice to eat, and the staff were always so helpful. Probably there will be a few people who do not agree with me as they go for months at a time but I have tried to be as honest as I can, we would go back to this hotel as we had a lovely time, but I just think that it should be updated and move a little with the times as far as the food was concerned. We did not stay in the hotel for the entertainment after our evening meal as it was very much geared to dancing and the slightly older guests, we preferred to have a walk on the prom and find somewhere to have a drink and watch the world go by. For anyone needing a winter holiday, without a long flight and to just have a relaxing holiday, this is the hotel !!!!!

Room Tip: Higher rooms get wonderful views and sun all day

We booked the Don Pancho because of the reviews and we were not disappointed. I think that when you read reviews you should take each of them with a pinch of salt. You should try to ignore the ranters and ravers and use the reviews to give a general overview so that you have a balanced opinion of the place before you go.
This was our third visit to Benidorm and we like it because it can be all things to all people, you have everything from the Spanish culture of the old town, to the great tribute acts in the music bars right through to the mad busy night life in the middle of the new town. This is the first time we have actually come home without spending all our euro's!!
Now onto the hotel. Its in a great location just far enough from the square where all the discos are to allow a restful nights sleep but centrally located so that even a walk into the old town is no challenge. The entrance is quite impressive as is the reception. The staff are professional and polite and in my experience offer a caring and pleasant attitude.
There are 5 lifts (four small and one larger) so we rarely had to wait more than a couple of mins for one (which can be a problem in some hotels).
We arrived on the 17th of March which is early on in the season and the guests were all retired couples mostly Spanish for the first part of the week and then mainly english for the second half of the week. We are 40 and 48 years old so we were the youngest couple by far but that was an added bonus. All of the guests who we chatted to were really civilised and polite which only added to the relaxing atmosphere. (How many time have you had your holiday spoiled by ruff family's who spend half their life at reception moaning about the slightest thing).
We liked the room which although it was on the 14th floor was lovely and quite. Although you can tell that the hotel is looking a little tired now the room was a good standard and had some updating in recent months such as new tiling to the bathroom walls and floors and new sanitary ware. Being Spain they hadn't changed the taps or painted the woodwork so the overall effect was a bit spoiled. One nice touch was the fact that the room was carpeted as were the hallways which deadened the sounds from the other rooms and corridors.
The maid was fantastic, so polite, friendly and professional. She did a great job and the room was always spotless with extra towels and clean bedding twice a week. Although I hate heights and we were on the 14th of 17 floors the balcony felt realy safe with sturdy banisters and I soon got used to it.
The restraunt is on the 1st floor along with the entertainment room rather than in the basement like so many hotels. It looked really smart and modern and it really felt like you were going out for a luxury meal. The choice of food was amazing and all really high quality. Two kinds of soup, A great salad bar with whole prawns or mackerel or tuna. Fresh bagetts . Nice crispy chips. Pork, beef, chicken, fish cooked in different ways each night. There was even steak pie one night and it was fab. Deserts are great too with loads of coice and the ice cream is as good as any hagen das. Ive never seen such coice in fresh fruit either. The house white wine was only €7 a bottle and tasted quite nice for the money. If you dont drink it all they save it for you for the next night. If you cant find something nice to eat in that restraunt then you have a problem.
The entertainment wasnt really to our taste as it was more for an older crowd who like to dance but the quality of musicians and singers was good and the bar prices were fair too. The entertainment room looked really nice and cosy and was busy every night.
The beds were firm but comfortable and its the first time I have not had back ache at the end of the holiday. There are a few english tv channels in the room so there no need to miss out on your soaps either.
The pool area was nice but a bit on the small side. It was scrubbed meticulously everyday by the maids. every chair and sunbed was washed and the entire floor area was mopped daily too. Being small, you will have to be up early if you like to sit around the pool because there arent enough sun beds to go around.
The breakfasts were fantastic even though the bacon is streaky (which I hate) it tasted really nice. Again there was loads of choice and I never missed breakfast once which is amazing for me especially after a skin full the night before!
All in all this is a great hotel and I will definately go back again. I think it is best suited to retired people or to those looking for a quiet base to sleep after the nightlife of bars becomes a bit much or for anyone who just wants to relax for a week or two. I would imagine if you are a single traveler you would not only feel safe here but you would make friends very quickly. But please, if you are a moaner please stay away you will drag the place down for the rest of us!

Room Tip: Return guests said the higher floors give more peace and quiet. All rooms face the sea.
