I would go along with the last two reviews. We have just returned after spending Christmas and New Year there and I was a little apprehensive but went on previous reviews which were spot-on. Yes, there are slight problems with the road but that is due to the Curtural Centre being built across from the hotel but money has since run out and no work has apparently been done for almost two years, leaving six huge cranes towering into the sky. The hotel is absolutely spotless and within close walking distance to most places. Really friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. The Gala Dinners were quite good and some entertainment better than others but the 2 for 1 offer in the bar until April 2012 made it worthwhile having a drink or three at the hotel as the prices are very competitive even with the cheapy bars. The good thing about the hotel drinks are they are all decent brands, including the spirits, unlike the rubbish you get in the smaller bars where neat paintstripper can be sometimes served from Smirnoff botttles. Don't go if you want to sit in the hotel bar until late as the bar closes at midnight however, there are plenty of other bars nearby that stay open late if you are a night owl. The food began to get repeatative after 10 days but when you are full board, eating in the same place can become boring at any hotel. It is a good idea to still have the odd meal in a nearby restaurant or in the old town. The hotel has Sky Sports in the bar and BBC and ITV channels in the bedrooms. I would certainly go again and would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Benidorm..

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool get the afternoon sun, the ones overlooking the Rio Park get the morning...

I must say this hotel offers one of the highest standards, quaint and cosy, not at all loud as you would expect in benidorm or any of the other servigroup hotels we have stayed in. Staff are very nice with certain details which make you feel special. Rooms are clean and spacious. Appliances all work well and lots of free TV channels to chose from. Though a couple of negative points when it comes to meal time. Not in keeping with the 4 stars the hotel claims to have. Location is rather out of the way and with the road works happening right outside the entrance it was not a pleasant location. Christmas atmosphere was unremarkable until the evening on Christmas day. Outta the blue we stumbled upon dancing classes in the bar. Turns out he was a singer from Malta giving one hack of a show. Ended up having the best evening ever in Benidorm. Props to the management for recruiting him. We are looking forward to seeing Jon Silver again next time we visit.

Room Tip: love the 11th floor. great views

My husband & I checked in to this hotel on the 19/11/11 till the 29/11/11 we were on Full board. On arrival the hotel was nice and clean & we were greeted by a very nice receptionist who also spoke English. We proceeded to check in & we were given our room cards etc and explained about the hotel facilities etc. We were on the 7th floor we had a lovely view from our room overlooking the Pool & also you could see the sea. The rooms were nice & welcoming, there was also a balcony. We had dinner that night and the restaurant was lovely & bright & clean there was a very good variety of food etc, We also had drinks in the bar later and they had a deal on 2 for 1 drinks all day any time except Tea & Coffees. So this was lovely as some hotels had a Happy Hour option which limits times. We also had Breakfast & Lunch every day as well & the variety was lovely of food never repetitive. Overall the Hotel was very nice & a lot of the staff were english spoken as well which was a bonus. The hotel was approximately 15 - 20 min walk from the main beach Levante... This was good also. We would definitely recommend a walk on the promenade which ws lovely, also we went to the Commercial centre which there is a number 2 & 12 bus which brings you there directly. The bus stop was a 2 min walk from the hotel.Great shops & bargains out here Mango, Pull & Bear etc to name a few. There was a Market also in Benidorm on Sunday this was a big market passed away a few hours. If Buying Cigarettes buy where you see the Tabacos sign as these are reputable also dont buy from Airport as more expensive. Perfumes over there were same price as Ireland so no difference really. We also had a Hot Chocolate Con Churros which was really good worth a try... Terrazzo Cafe is a name of a lovely coffee shop & there is a lovely homely atmosphere here they are on the promenade & also worth a visit for a drink or a coffee at night there chocolate cake is delicious so delicious I had 2...Beware of a scam on the promenade, there are a few together, they have a box & potatoes x 3 where they have a red ball under 1 of the potatoes & you need to pick the one, sounds easy.. So basically the guy says give me 50 euro, your in game you see the Red ball under the potato, you pick that potato & then he lifts up but no red ball??? So what you dont know is there is a lady with them she comes along gives him 50 Euro sees red ball says that one hey presto she wins she is so happy so now she has 100, she goes again and wins again... So Beware please as we saw loads of innocent holiday makers get robbed....Dont join the Game...Overall a great holiday & by the way the hotel should be a 5 star, we wil definitely return....Entertainment in hotel was ok ish would have been nice to have an act on or a comedian etc WIFI was free also ask reception for password. On departure we got the Alsa bus to Alicante airport which cost 8.20 euro each and the bus was a 5 min walk from hotel as Airport was 50 mins away from Benidorm, Taxi costs 65 euro...

I stayed for two nights in November 2011 and can't fault this hotel. Staff very efficient, room small but tidy, good quality food...and all for 46 euros per night full board. I honestlycan't think of anything negative to say about my Hotel Castilla experience - even the construction work at the new Cultural Centre across the road seems to have come to a halt.

Room Tip: low numbered rooms on each floor get more sun

Stayed at this hotel in March 2011 and found everything about the hotel exceptional. The service was second to none, the food excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Bearing this in mind, when returning to Bendiorm for the November fiesta, I returned to this hotel anticipating the same type of treatment as previously received.
Unfortunately this was not the case, the reception staff whilst not rude were not exactly helpful, the food was a big disappointment, generally it was served up at 7 o'clock and left to go dry and unappetising due to the fact that the trays were not replenished. One night we entered the restaurant at 8 o'clock to find that the bowl containing the prawn cocktail that we fancied eating was empty, at 9.30 when the restaurant closed no attempt had been made to replace it. Ok its not the end of the world but having experienced such high standards previously i felt let down and embarassed as I had recommended this hotel to my fellow travellers.
Again due to the excellent service received in March we have booked this hotel for the Christmas period so I am keeping my fingers crossed that normal service will have been resumed.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool also face an unfinished building which is not a pretty sight. Request a...

Having stayed at numberous hotels in Benidorm over the years I have to say the Castilla is certainly one of the best.
The hotel is a credit to Servigroup and has to be credited on how clean and presentable this hotel is.
The staff can only be described as dedicated and superb and nothing is too much trouble.
The only slight problem after a ten day stay would be the food at the hotel that can seem a little repetative at times, however if you went to your favourite restaurant for ten nights in a row I am sure that would be the same.
This is a totally safe hotel with very high standards and I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
Well done Servigroup, this hotel is a credit to your opertaion.

Room Tip: A high floor room with a pool view provide a good view and a peacefull nights sleep
