“open plan cooking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2012

it claims open plan cooking one chef, one hotplate thats it,thats when he is available.19 floors 4 lifts one of which was broken all week another broke with people trapped inside halfway between floors,no worries the chef rescued them with a step ladder !!.the higher you are the longer you wait for a lift but the lower you go the more noise you get from the bars opposite.this hotel should be regraded to max 3star now that it has gone all inc.no towel service so take your own,the pool area is never washed down so is dirty, stained and sticky.you are only given water by the glass,if you argue you can have bottles of water but they will be charged to your room. There is a shortage of staff so be prepared to que for the bars, lots of stag and hen parties, the food is precooked and kept warm in the kithens the bacon is rubbish, the eggs rubber.you can only get tea and coffee from vending machines after queing up yet AGAIN,no music in the pool area just shouting and screaming from the stag and hen parties. You have to pay for the tiny fridge and safe deposit box in your rooms to be activated !!!,food choice very boring and they love recycling food NEVER AGAIN THANKYOU

Room Tip: if you don't want to listen to thumping music from the bars go higher, but then you will wait age...

This is an excellent hotel.I would recommend a premier room. The rooms had chocolates and wine on arrival.Fridge, free safe, robes and slippers and kept very clean.Food was a fantastic choice, meats, fish, vegetarian, salads etc.The staff and manager were great, saw the manager every day,he said any problems ask for him.Entertainment was the best I have ever seen in an hotel, two acts every night. It was a bit of a walk to the beach about 15mins nice stroll. The only downside was the spirits seemed weak (not a problem though.) Nice holiday.

Room Tip: Choose a premier room they are great.

This hotel has a spacious, bright and cool reception area with helpful and welcoming staff. The rooms are easy to find with clear directions from the lift to the room. The corridors are clean and well lit with plenty of natural daylight. The rooms are spacious and clean with everything working in them. The bathroom is well appointed with a bath/shower and separate shower. The toilet has a bidet in with soft bidet towels. The towels are changed when a guest requires them to be changed. The free toiletries are of good quality and are replenished as required. The dinningroom is spacious with plenty of choice of food and plenty of room between tables. The staff are all keen to ensure that you have the holiday you want ie busy, relaxed or pampered. The Thompson rep was clear, concise and welcoming both in his welcome speech and throughout the holiday. The only day he did come to the hotel was his day off and he gave a telephone number in the UK to ring if we needed any help on his day off. Our comfort and enjoyment were both of equal importance during our stay. WELL DONE ONE AND ALL

Room Tip: Choose a room above the 8th floor as there are fun pubs and bars opposite the hotel which play loud...

Stayed with a group of men only for the Benidorm 7's (Rugby), ages ranging from 25 to 82 ! had an amazing time the hotel was certainly one of the best i've stayed at and the food excellent. The staff and management were very helpful although we might have been a little noisy for the couples staying at the same time, our only disappointment was the upgrade to premium spirits had to be done by everyone in the party or per room which didnt fit in with our arrangements. The local area was fun with plenty of bars and restaurants to visit and the trip to the waterfalls was enjoyed by those that went.
Would defintely recommend this hotel and the 'boys' want to go back next year if they'll have us !

Just back from a week at this hotel and would certainly consider returning. I had seen that it was possible to upgrade and we did so when checking – in. The receptionist was very clear in explaining what you got for the extra cost ( 16 euros a day) and made sure we understood that it wasn’t a bigger room we were paying for, but extras. You get a corner room which means a corner balcony large enough to accommodate 2 sun beds as well as table and chairs – a bottle of wine and chocolates - there are slippers and dressing gowns - a fresh bottle of water daily and tea and coffee making facilities. You also get a ‘one use’ pass to the Spa- well worth a visit and if we had more time would have paid to return for another Spa circuit. There were 2 Spanish wedding receptions held on the Saturday – one in the afternoon and another in the evening but they didn’t disrupt the service and we got to see their fireworks! This hotel is in the New end Benidorm but being the last skyscraper the views from the balcony were lovely. Although I suppose the evening entertainment is aimed at the older generation I loved it, but then unlike other reviews I love Motown, 60’s etc. There were a couple of dancer s – called something like Fever Dance – who were superb and a couple of the singers were better than the singers we saw at the Benidorm Palace. My only criticism is that as a pescatarian I found there was never a Veggie main course and fish for lunch and dinner is more fish than anyone could want. If I was a vegetarian I would really have struggled as the chef even puts bits of meat in with some of the vegetables and sauces. That said the food was ok but certainly wouldn’t suggest this hotel if you love your food – quite boring and repetitive. 1 week ok – 2 weeks , No!

Hotel is actually very very good. Service is superb as is the food and the facilities. entertainment at nights are not the best, but then its a matter of taste. I don't like 50s and 60s and motown and elvis!

Rooms are spacious, with extras at a price such as a fridge and safe. Recommend a fridge, especially if you want to have a cold drink in the evening or day in your room!

Booked via First Choice as a Thomson holiday, 1st problem we had was our particular rep wasn't even on our coach, yet he was on the all other new visitor coaches.

2nd problem, was we that we booked this purely for the no children policy, yet we have had at least 2 occassions where we have had nuisance children who have attended parties at the hotel. The rep and the 24 hour helpline did not want to know about it, in fact the email response i had actually stated that the hotel is only exclusive to First Choice in the UK, yet anybody can book directly with the hotel.

Lots to do around town, zoo, waterpark, dolphin shows, levi's showboat is worth a mention as is The Benidorm Palace. And if you are of age check out Sticky Vicky! Fascinating and distressing to watch at the same time!

Room Tip: Try and get a superior room upon arrival if possible. Also may be worth paying the extra 8 euros a d...
