We where in Calpe for a climbing trip so it was important for us to have a place to base ourselves that meant we could relax and have fun on our relaxation days.

We stayed in a large 3 bedroom apartment with a balcony road facing. The apartment was in a great location right next to the beach and close to local shopping centre and amenities.

One of the benefits of this property is being able to use the hotel facilities including the air conditioned gym and swimming pool which overlooks the beach.

The pool area has an amazing athosmphere with nice mellow music playing and great cocktails to choose from. Priciely but when you see the amount they put in your glass its value for money!

The rooms were comfortable and the gran solymar kindly set up the rooms as requested as twin rooms. the kitchen was clean and bathrooms a good size. The communal area was also a good size.

only down fall to the apartments is the lack of free parking!

We have already booked for our next trip in the coming september/october

Large apartment with 3 bedrooms was more than suitable for 2 adults and 3 children. Beach was near like many different restaurants. Biggest minus was that we didn't have seaview and and sun didn't shine to our balcony so it was a bit difficult to get swimming wear dried.

Really excellent accommodation very close to the beach (if you can tear yourself away from the magnificent pool), bars and restaurants.
We had booked a two bedroom apartment for just 2 of us because we wanted space but the hotel put us in a three bedroom apartment which was massive and absolutely beautiful with all the amenities you could ever want.
I have been to Calpe many, many times, I have stayed in literally dozens of other apartments and hotels (including the hotel next to this accommodation) and I can honestly say I have never stayed anywhere nicer than the Del Mar/Solymar, all the public parts of the hotel are beautiful and spotlessly clean, the staff are pleasant, polite, helpful and speak good English (a lot better than my Spanish); as stated our accommodation was wonderful, the bed in the master suite was an emperor size and really comfy, the walk in shower was fantastic and the fridge in the kitchen was better than the one I have at home!!
Apartment guests get to use all the same facilities as hotel guests including the fantastic pool and loungers, they even supply a clean beach towel each day for a returnable deposit of 10€ This visit to Calpe was to see the Moors and Christians celebrations (late October each year) so our very spacious balcony overlooking the main street was perfect for viewing the parade in comfort. I will definately be using this accommodation again

“Top Tip: Pub Delfin just around the corner is great for watching football and even though the owner supports Manchester United he found the Manchester City game for us and put it on!!

Calpe Steakhouse for a fantastic steak

Everest Tandoori - is a Nepalese Indian restaurant close to the hotel, the best curry I have had in years.

Stayed here for four nights in a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean with a huge terrace that swept round the corner of the building. From one end we had a view towards the beach and the Penon and in the other direction we had a side view of the sea. We looked straight up the main road, Gabriel Miro, and it was a shame we weren't there a week later as we would have had a brilliant view of the Moors and Christians fiesta. We were staying in the apartments to attend a family gathering so did not get to use many of the facilities but everything we saw looked good. The apartment had everything you could need and a nice touch was the bowl of fruit. The supermarket attached to the hotel/apartments was well stocked and well priced. This is an ideal location for visiting Calpe and if taking buses from the airport they drop right outside. My only one gripe is that the sliding doors on the shower cubicle didn't quite meet properly so we got a bit of a puddle on the bathroom floor but I'm sure if we had mentioned it they would have sorted it out. The reception staff were very helpful in general. I've heard that these apartments are expensive during the summer months but they are still fairly booked up. Going out of season makes the price very reasonable.

Stayed here in September for a wedding. There were six couples.
We had a three bedroomed apartment that overlooked the street at the side of the hotel. Huge, clean apartments with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer oven etc and ample kitchen utensils. THere is a supermarket on the ground floor of the hotel which we used often for supplies for lunch and one evening we had dinner in the apartment.
We had a massive living come dining area and a huge balcony too.
The apartment had two lovely spacious bathrooms - one of which was in the main bedroom.

The check in at the hotel was simple and efficient - quite welcoming too.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and spacious. The swimming pool was lovely and relaxing and the staff here were very friendly also.

I didn't think it was somewhere i would take my children to on vacation as i felt the pool area was geared more towards adults. That said there is a kids pool and it is right on a lovely beach.
You dont need to pack a beach towel either as you can hire these. Pay a 10 euro deposit and get your towel changed every day and get your money back when you leave.

The hotel is in a lovely location down at the beach and i am sure there are spectacular views to be had from the main hotel bedrooms.

One night there was a bbq at the hotel, which was all you could eat for around 25 euro. They had steak, chicken, fish, chips, rice, potatoes veg, lots of cheese and salads. Great value.

The only negative thing about the apartments was that the cleaners don't come around at all so the towels you have won't be changed. Bring some washing powder though and you can do these yourself.

THe food at the wedding we attended was outstanding and we danced the night away in the cocktail bar above the pool.

If we return to Calpe we would stay here again.
