This is a really interesting museum. Unfortunately almost everything is in Spanish so it's hard to make out what the signs say.

We visited the museum yesterday and although small and compact it was well worth the 30-40 mins having a look round.
It gives a good insight into the history of salt in the area and. the techniques used by the locals on how they got it from the sea then getting it ready for transportation around the world.
There are many interesting items to view with some excellent models giving you a clear image of how this was achieved.
If you've got a spare hour in Torrevieja well worth a visit, it was free to get in and only a few minutes walk from the Tourist Information centre down by the harbour.
Thank You,
SDA

A little museum telling you the story about the long tradition of extraction of salt from seawater. It is free to visit the museum.

A very small museum but interesting, was a bit of a language barrier with the man on the desk as he didn't speak any English and us no Spanish but we all got by and tried! Salt figures were amazing and unique..worth a visit as directly in the town centre and free!

Only a small museum but with some fabulous things to see. The models made from salt are really great. An interesting hour. Then head off for the visit to board the S61 submarine
