“Interesting Scale Models But No English”

Museo Del Mar Y De La Sal

There were many very interesting and very well made scale models to show different rural settings in Spain, I imagine! I only say this because there is absolutely no English information available anywhere, so you have no idea why these different displays are included. Aside from this, still interesting to look around, only one medium sized room, so you could easily see it all in about 30 minutes, but there's also many nice trinkets to view around the museum.

This is a small museum but is still quite an interesting place. The descriptions are all in Spanish so it is difficult to read but it has some interesting stuff on display. It is free entry too. It won't take long to look around but it is still worth having a look.

This is a really interesting museum. Unfortunately almost everything is in Spanish so it's hard to make out what the signs say.

We visited the museum yesterday and although small and compact it was well worth the 30-40 mins having a look round.
It gives a good insight into the history of salt in the area and. the techniques used by the locals on how they got it from the sea then getting it ready for transportation around the world.
There are many interesting items to view with some excellent models giving you a clear image of how this was achieved.
If you've got a spare hour in Torrevieja well worth a visit, it was free to get in and only a few minutes walk from the Tourist Information centre down by the harbour.
Thank You,
SDA

A little museum telling you the story about the long tradition of extraction of salt from seawater. It is free to visit the museum.
