We had dinner here on a sunday evening. It's a pleasant and quiet place, with a somewhat tacky decor and very nice staff. We started with an assortment fo croquetas, all very tasty, while waiting for the black rice paella (all really good paellas take at least 20 to 30 minutes, it's not fast food!), that was excellent (it's black because it's made with squid cooked in its ink). We finished with a cheese flan and a turrón and caramel ice-cream, both extremely tasty and not at all heavy. The wines suggested by the waiter - both white and red - were also good.

It might have been better had a party of 18 not been there that night. The staff handled it very well with barely a hiccup. However, maybe it was an Irish Wake. Three guys were totally morose, drinking heavily, crying, consoling each other and drinking heavily. Some of the others wee quite loud.
Anyway
Service was very good and professional.
We split a salad, very nice, fresh enough to share. Then a Paella Valenciana, which also quite good although totally missing any socaratt at the bottom, which I guess in a rushed restaurant environment is hard to do. A bottle of incredible Enrique Mendoza Syrah and desert, and we were done. Think the bill came to $90 US for an excellent meal.

We were hungry and ordered too much food - calamaries and sea food mix as starters (huge portions) and paella (huuuuuge pan) with seafood peeled)) We couldn't stop until we finished it all! Simply the best. Loved it!

We were vacationing in Spain and while in Valencia wanted to try a traditional Paella. After a long day exploring Valencia we stopped in at Raco del Turia for dinner. We didnt have reservations and luckily they were able to accommodate us for dinner. We sat outside at the small number of outdoor tables they had. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. The dinner took some time but we expected it since they make the paella to order and that takes time. The wine that the waitress recommended was delicious. The paella was really good too. We had ordered one of the seafood paellas and it was very flavorful. There was not as much of the crusted rice on the pan bottom as we had expected but overall it was still very good.

From initial contact when booking, to changing my mind on the table I can’t faukt the restaurant and Vicente in particular. On arrival there was a long queue of locals but we were ushered in with a very warm welcome (made me feel like an old friend). Service was exemplary. Food was outstanding. Had smoked sardine and squid rings for our starters. Suckling pig for mains - it was amazing. Desserts were wonderful. The sommelier recommended a wonderful local wine which complimented our choices perfectly - and it was one of the cheapest on the list. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Valencia and we will definitely be back.
