The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is a unique complex devoted to scientific and cultural dissemination which is made up of five main elements: the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (a landscaped vantage point and car park), the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (an innovative centre of interactive science), the Oceanográfico (the largest aquarium in Europe with over 500 marine species) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (which takes care of the operatic programme). This area is absolutely beautiful, the structures are breath taking and the park it’s located in is a fantastic day out.. best to experience on a bicycle as the park is a drained river bed that goes on for miles.. the museums have fun outside water actives.. and offer a beautiful places to sit and relax.. highly recommend this whilst in Valencia.

Valencia is a pearl. Don’t understand why this is not a must to visit when is Spain.

The area around the river bed which is now a park and the modern buildings close to the port are just magnificent.

Recommend to get an account on AllBikesNow and use the city bikes to explore the city.

Visit the aquarium and the opera. Check the areas around the river bed.

Make it to the old city part. Enjoy Valencia.

It was the first time for me in Valencia, I was amazed by this place! The museum of the science is really nice, recommended for kids while the IMAX cinema inside the eyes is just incredible. Not expensive at all, you can choose between different tickets!

Lots of activities for kids. Most have English translation unfortunately there are some small areas with no translation. Includes dinosaurs, robotics, geology and biology.

This is a stand out attraction in Valencia. We walked along the old Turia river bed from Alameda Metro station towards the Arts and Sciences and were awed by our first sight. Completely futuristic but managing to stand alongside the old city. We visited an exhibition of Fallas puppets whilst there during the day but returned in the evening to see the local Valencians parading the children's puppets through the grounds accompanied by brass bands and singing. The night lighting of the complex is superb - a whole new look.
