Description: The menu at Ricard Camarena Restaurant (Michelin Star and three Repsol Suns) is a successful combination of taste, absolute respect for the product, an understated creative cuisine grounded in tradition with cosmopolitan and Mediterranean influences and based on seasonal produce. Ricard Camarena's cuisine is highly personal, simple in appearance yet complicated in elaboration. The chef's culinary soul shows through in developing his creativity without any superfluous elements that could get in the way of what he wishes to transmit in each one of his dishes.

My future son in law and I had an amazing meal here last night. We choose the 8 course menu with wine pairings. The food was so inventive and the flavours incredible. Our favourites were the beef with truffle and the turbot. The little prelude dishes were also full of fresh flavours. The service was so friendly and the meal beautifully paced. Do have the wine pairings as they are a journey through some of the best wines that Spain has to offer.

One Michelin star restaurant Richard Camarena looks like a modern sitting room. We are sitting with 10 people: Dutch/German/Australian/Spanish in a row at one table before the kitchen. 8 amuses before the real diner starts. Some great some average. After that 6 dishes are served in quite a speed. The tuna cheeks are tasteless. The langoustines dish is not good, they are totaly over cooked, a shame. The crab dish is great, the risotto with calamaris is good, the beef with mushroom and truffle is top. The desert with nougat and lemon is to sour for me but my wife likes it. The service is good. The lady sommelier is helpfull in selecting a nice Spanish chardonnay. The chef doesn't speak English probably because he is speaking to all Spanish guests but not all all to the international guests. He is neglecting them totally. Quite strange. A baby is entering the restaurant at 10 pm and is screaming of course after a while. Luckily the mother is giving her girl breastfeeding while sitting in the middle of a restaurant. Every guest has something to see and talk about and is of course talking about it.
In all a nice place with good food but one Michelin star is right. Moderate prices 105 euro p.p. The food is not as creative and detailed great as the food of El Poblet and the service is not of that level as well. Real 2 stars food and service level in El Poblet.

Quite simply, this was the best experience we had in the city. The tasting menu is incredible and the pre dinner bites are just as good. The service is terrific and we loved how they tailored the menu to our likes and avoided dislikes. A meeting experience and well worth the money
